That's great news. You will love it. When I had the talk with my wife I assumed she would want the Horizon since it had the awning and kitchen unit. She said that she actually like the looks of the Chaser better and since we have all our own gear we can set up our own kitchen. Now the fun...
We had a popup for 6 years and just got rid of it for an AT Chaser. As mentioned above if all you want to do is go to established camp sites then get the pop up style camper. However after 6 years we got sick of doing that. They are crowded for the most part and we found ourselves wanted more...
I'm telling you that is one comfy chair. The wife gave me the look, :littlefriend: , the other week at REI when I had two of them on my shoulder so they went back in the pile. :( We're going back next week to take advantage of our 20% member coupon to get some new hiking boots. I think I'm...
I currently have an 03 with the V6. I drove a 95 2.7 Tacoma for 8 years prior to buying my current truck. As already mentioned both are outstanding motors. I loved that 4 cyl but I simply out grew the regular cab 4cyl so I moved up to the V6 dbl cab. Living in Colorado and going up to the...
I currently have an 03 Tacoma Dbl Cab and also owned an 02 4Runner. We traded the 4Runner for an 06 Xterra and sometimes I wish we had the 4Runner back. Both the Taco and 4Runner are awesome vehicles. If you don't need the cargo space of the pickup then go with the 4Runner. It is a bit more...
We never run the heater once we go to sleep. Run it for 15 minutes or so before bed and 15 minutes or so when we wake up. The sleeping bags and hats keep us warm during the night.
It's what ever works for you. For us the trailer works great. If it does'nt work then I'm sure there are other options out there as mentioned above. Neither is better than the other for all applications.
Mario might have spilled a few things to me when he was out here a month or so ago but I'm not telling! He might do this to me... :sport_box ! As far as valuable options I'd definitely get the 12v package, unless you are good at wiring things yourself. Pretty much every other option is straight...
I think I've found the chair I'm gonna buy. I was at REI today and they have the REI Comfort LTG Chair. If you are looking for a lower setting chair like a Kermit you should try this out. The pillow is attached and slides up and down so it can support your lower back or upper back. They are...
As far as carbon monoxide goes, I ran mine in a small closet for 45 minutes and the carbon monoxide detector never went above 0. Like mentioned above just be careful of bumping into them.
Of course I can't confirm this, Martyn or Mario hopefully will, but I'm pretty sure the 700lbs is just the frame and cargo tub and axle. Everything else extra, wheels/tires, cargo box lid, water tank, nose box etc.
Steve we also use a 10x10 E-Z Up Awning for our Chaser. They actually set up very nice on the passenger side of the Chaser. We put ours up nice and snug against the trailer and it covers the side past the water tank. Very nice for a kitchen/hang out area. Have you tried the side walls yet to...
For me the weight is no issue at all and did not intend the thread to lean that way. I was just curious about the accuracy of my scale reading and wanted to know how close it was to others that have had thier trailers weighed.
These are exactly the reasons we've always preferred using a...
I agree Matyn. Once you load up any small off road trailer the weight is going to climb fast.
Mine is configured as follows:
Eezi Awn 1800- 145lbs, Waeco 50- 44lbs, Deka Battery- 69lbs, steel rock crawler wheel with Firestone tire- 80lbs each, that's 418lbs just for that. I have no idea how...
But man do they tow nice. Even with my 3.4l engine. Still about 1000lbs lighter than my previous trailer. The weight adds up quick though. The base weight of the trailer is only 700lbs. I figured just the weight of my wheels/tires, 1800 Eezi Awn, Waeco 50 and 12v battery add on a little...
Has anyone put their Adventure Trailer on the scales? My work buddies had the mobile weigh station set up down the street from me the other day so I hooked up the Chaser and took it down. It was loaded with everything minus the 19 gallons of water and the clothing. No food in the fridge but...
If you plan on staying at established campgrounds or just towing on dirt roads you will be fine and will probably love the camper. We had a Coleman Santa Fe for 6 years and got a lot of great use out of it. However over the past two years we have started to dislike the mainstream campgrounds...
I wonder if something was wrong with it or if there is just a big difference between the V6 and the V8. I have no experience witht the V6 but the V8 has done nothing but impress me. The first time my buddy took it off road he did not know how to put it into 4Lo so he drove the entire Medano...
