    2013 Jeep Rubicon 10th Anniversary

I just thank Gawd for Chryco/Jeep who actually fields such a capable enthusiast's vehicle. A world with Rubicons of questionable styling is soooo much better than world with no Rubicon at all.

    new honda bike

Sooooo true. What we really do with our bikes are sometimes a long way from what we dream of doing with our bikes. example: my farkled up Alaska to Ushuaia "capable" daily commuter. For what I really use it for, I could easily replace it with a Ruckus.

    new honda bike

I think so. I think you're missing the fact that a 300 or 500cc bike isn't the best tool in the shed if "Top Speed" is your thrill of choice. I've always found gearing to be adjustable by sprocket replacement. I doubt Big Red intended this to be an out of the box RTW machine. I assume they...

    new honda bike

I think it would be a great beginners machine. A 500 twin with an upright riding position sounds great. I have had an eye out for a descent Kawasaki 500 Ninja for my wife to start riding because it's a simple easy to handle twin (smoother than a thumper). I think I like the Honda 500 better...

    AETHER, Great brand

The T-shirt is an easy product to compare against competitors. The price does take you by surprise. I guess you could sell 1,000 shirts for a buck a shirt profit or fifty shirts at $20 profit per shirt and you still end up with a grand in the bank. Just a different business model. Me, I'm...

    Subtle SEMA funny..

That's funny. Judging by their videos and now this, Teraflex seems to be a really fun bunch. I love it that they don't feel compelled to take themselves too seriously.

You have not seen this before!!

OMG!!! Fantastic. I once went OTB on simple railroad tracks. This guys level of handling is unfathomable to me.

Expeditions 7: Two Years Around the World on all Seven Continents.

We may have to wait longer than we want to get enough details from E7 to quench our curiosity. The video footage from this trip is being shopped as a multi installment television package. I'm just speculating but if a satisfactory distribution deal can't be struck with TV, it only makes sense...

Who is gonna be in line to buy one of these?

Nope, not gonna take us long to rip this to shreds around here. I think it's cool. Not in the market, don't have the need but I admire the rig. Over the top, schmover the top, we forget how over the top our stuff seems to other segments.

ExPo Project: 1991 Land Cruiser Prado SX (LJ78)

The problem with diesel's batteries is that they require a lot of oomph to start the engine. Overcoming compression ratios twice that of a gasser puts a strain on the battery. I would bet anything that it is not the original battery as stated by the OJ staffer. I think that statement just...

    1983 Toyota Landcruiser FJ45 Troopie

That's a unique project waiting to happen. Pretty spendy. I would think that anybody who can pony up the appreciable coin to purchase it, will probably have adequate funds to see it through to a beautiful conclusion. Fingers crossed that we get to watch it being built.

The Official SEMA 2012 Thread! Check Back For Frequent Updates.

Maybe this thread should get a title change, it really isn't living up to the billing.

Ford F554, the replacement for the H1 is here.

If you don't mind me asking, what sort of travel are you doing that the F554 is an optimum platform? Where are you planning to go? My concepts of travel are pretty pedestrian, so portal axles, rotating weight & mass of those 44" tires and navigating the trucks overall dimensions on trails or...

Thoughts on Quick Fists and Shovel Mounting

I have used them and they work great. My application was different than yours, it was a shovel in the vertical. I would have no qualms about using them for a shovel under the FWC. They are certainly strong enough to secure it. I did find myself always checking on it. Not because I feared...

    1 person tent

My suggestion isn't a tent so I apologize up front. How about a USGI Gortex bivy from the military ECWS sleep system? It meets the criteria of water proof, one person and is anything but delicate. Surplus sites sell them for $25-$50, maybe you can score a complete EWCSS at a yard sale. My 16...

Gas welding, very cool. That's how it was attempted to teach me to weld. I had a difficult time properly welding anything .125 or larger and certainly never had inverted oxy/acc success. Keep up the good work!
