Wiring an alternator on vintage vehicle

Are you sure?? It could be part of the piston return spring mechanism that was never installed correctly........... I did a one wire custom build using a later delco that puts out 100amps. Literally one wire to the battery (or in my case to the isolator to split up the duties between two batts)

    Fear of the highlift?

Or....... Think it through and pull the "un-pinned" handle out while you are not using it. Lay it down next to the jack, insert when you need it, it's not 40' away and not going into free walking mode. Oohh, another option, use a couple pieces of self adhesive velcro on the handle and a jack...

    Fear of the highlift?

HiLifts are also good at squeezing stuff together. I carry a readywelder and have used my jack to hold things together while welding, bend stuff back to shape, pull axles back into place to fit a new bolt etc. They make good stands to help support a driveline being welded up.

Dual battery question: wiring inverter & accessories

I run two batts with a ford 200amp solenoid to combine and a noco isolator to handle the charging and maintaining of both batts. Power is supplied by a custom built 110amp alternator with a 4awg cable from alt to noco isolator, from isolator to batts it's 6awg. BAtts to starter, winch is 2awg...

    Tubing Bender question

^^X2^^ The 2" is good for the main pillars and the 1.5" is good for supports and triangulation. 1" is good for hand grabs, tube doors, etc. Any direction you go, get the 180 degree dies, you can do 90 degree bends with the 180 but not the other way around. Shock hops need more than 90, some...

    Battery Jumper cable recommendations?

Built mine from 4ga welding cable, small enough to carry but put through some serious current. I run a dual battery system with anderson connectors to plug in my cables, they have clamps at both ends just one end is only about a foot long. My outer battery comes out easy and can connect to...

    Fire extinguishers

We run a AFFF suppression system in our Jeep. Also carry two 2.5 lb K units, one on each side. My research turned up that halon was not good to inhale, a no go for my families safety. The reason we went with a mounted system was that it was quicker than stopping, getting out, opening hood...

Fox vs King: 2.0 Remote Reservoir Coilovers - Durability & Performance Comparison

I put a set of fox 2.0's on the front of my CJ5. Rally made a difference over the rancho 9000's. I did redo the mounts to give more travel and articulation however, so it may not be a fair comparison.
