I stacked as suggested. Excited to get this thing out there and see what I came up with. Im really curious how well the DC/DC will work but I doubt it will need to do much in the hour or so I have between garage power and camp power, I suppose the fridge wont run with temps in the low 30s but...
Size of battery? 105Ah, not sure if that’s what you were asking though.
I doubt I have the washers In the correct order. My IP67 would probably be the most current, then MPPT, then fuse box (load) since I couldn’t get it over 9A, then DC/DC and with no current orvery little is the monitor...
All hooked up and charging. Converter finally arrived after UPS lost it so I can test that a bit tomorrow during the drive. BP and I think this thing is done!
Dont mind the wide angle lens distortion!
I gotcha, I was thinking of just basically putting it on the wire that goes from the battery to my fuse box with an inline fuse between BP and battery. Every charge input is directly on the battery terminal.
I reckon its cheap enough difference that it makes sense to just get the bluetooth for futureproofing! Probably should have bought it before the battery hahaha but I will be diligent till I have it.
AHH another brain dump, this one I will need to read several time!
^This is very helpful thank you for the clear explanation, I had no idea what the 10/20Hr rate thing meant.
BTW, Sams Duracell special is sitting in the truck ready to pop in the toaster! I didnt think about it but strapping...
I was going to ask how to have the load auto dropped if the voltage drops below a certain level...the battery protect is what I’m after. Xmas list! For now I will monitor diligently. The IP67 is mounted inside so I will be able to charge at camp (and hopefully while driving if the converter...
Understood, the trip is 2 nights and basically a cold weather shakedown and a chance to test out some of the new gear like the DC/DC converter, insulation in the floor, and a new heat source for the cabin. Would I be doing the battery a disservice by using it after 18h of charging or would that...
Im going to have about 18 hours on the charger before I head out for the weekend but my site does have electrical this weekend. Things may run on battery for about an hour before I get to camp.
Since I'm going cheap im going with the Sams club battery since it will be easy to bring back should I have issues. New battery day is tomorrow, is there anything special I should do before 1st use besides giving it a good charge on the IP67?
Thanks for the wrench craig!!
GC Batteries dont seem to be available near me at Sams. Dave is right, I am in Elgin IL just west of Chicago but Im not finding much in terms of distributors near me, maybe I'm not searching correctly.
If no better plan arises I will be taking a trip to Sams...
Alright last question (on the battery) is the Sams Duracell better suited for my use than the Renogy 100Ah AGM if i were to buy a new one? And if so, why? Im curious and want to learn. Besides the added 5Ah, local availability, shipping/warranty. Just product and performance speaking.
Found what seems like the same battery at Sams Club but has a shorter warranty by a year. Models appear the same and its local.

Sage helps everything! That being said, I take your point to heart. Any concerns about the Dual Purpose label + starter battery details for the Duracell like luthj mentioned? I'm trying to go the recommended* route but I keep running into hoops and walls with local supplies and such...
Well, it looks like this battery is in stock locally - 105Ah

But is it better than the Vmax...
Batteries + Bulbs is about all I have locally. Auto parts stores dont carry too many options. I found the Vmaxtanks for $270 shipped but like you said I am SOL on warranty/service but with the new knowledge I intend on taking the best care of this battery to get the most life out of it...
