    Ice vs dry ice.

I have never tried dry ice but would like to try it. Maybe have 2 ice chests; one with dry ice and things frozen solid and the other with H20 ice? Are there any issues with off gassing CO2 inside a vehicle? I doubt it with flow thru ventilation etc.

Somebody please talk me down (VW bus lust)

I keep thinking what a 4x4 Sportsmoblie would be like compared to my old VW van with 50hp.

Somebody please talk me down (VW bus lust)

I'd stay with the Toyota for reliability reasons. What year(s) VW vans are you looking at? How often would you use it? You could get a tent for overflow campers. Having an extra vehicle means more maintenance and insurance. I've had several VW's and one 1970 van that was great for camping...

    NASA tracking station adventure

I found a site a while ago that listed old and or abandoned airfields around the country. It was pretty interesting. In NV there were several emergency landing strips on dry lakes for test aircraft etc.

Tundra regular cab short bed (RCSB)

Nice but a regular cab has space limitations for sure. I wish the TRD Tundras had a rear locker like the Tacomas.

Who uses a roof rack and what for?

Around town on weekends I use my rack to haul lumber, fence boards, pipe, re-bar, bags of planter mix and steer manure and anything that won't fit in the back of the H3. On long expo trips I carry shovel, gas, water, firewood, folding chairs, folding table and Action Packers. The problem...

Classic jeep resto: CJ5 or flat fender?

I love the older Willys Jeeps too. Ask yourself these questions: Are you a good mechanic and fabricator? What is your budget? How much time do you want to invest in the project? Do you want to work on it or drive it? No hard feelings Jeep folks. I get sentimental every day but if you really...

    Tent stake/spike suggestions - Moab

I have free standing dome tent(s) which doen't require stakes except to hold it down. I made some tent stakes using 12" metal spikes (like giant nails) and put a "J" on the end. If the ground is loose I put a rock on top of the stakes If I can't put stakes in the ground I put heavy gear...

    first aid storage

I use a soft red nylon bag/pouch for the main first aid kit and then have a small one with band aids for minor cuts etc. A portable kit is good is good in case you have to take it to the injured person.

Hinges, Latches to Use Drawer/Cabinet System as a Floor

3/4" would be plenty soild but heavy. Make it easy to remove if you are going to need the vehicle to haul stuff. I'd make a prototype before going all out with good lumber, hardware, paint and carpet etc. Post up some pictures when you are done.

    2011 Jeep Wrangler Spy Shots...

After having endured older Jeeps and other vehicles etc I have decided that a comfortable semi quiet vehicle is a great thing on long trips. Good brakes and steering and less road and engine noise are a good thing in my book. I think electronic gadgets controling transfercase, etc. should be...

They are trying to keep the costs down. Leather timmed seats seats are an option on Sahara and Rubicon models according to the 2010 brochure. I think Leather or vinyl seats are the way to go. They may be hot but at least you can clean them off with a damp towel.
