    3B Diesel RPMs/tire size choices....

My BJ70 has 4.56 and 33s (255/85R16 BFG MTs). It's slightly lower than the stock 235/75R15s + 3.70s. I've always been happy with the combo. Still able to cruise all day at 120 km/h (as long as it's not uphill...!) and ok low range for wheeling. It'd be perfect with 34s. 4.56s and 31s will be...

    What I am going with...

Nifty manuals? Very handy: http://www.niftyaccessories.com/Yaesu_cards.htm Enjoy the 7800. I thought about grabbing it for my second truck, but I snoozed and lost :sombrero: You won't regret it (the radio AND the license). Totally worth it.

Confessions of a novice rider part four: Its addictive

2 words for you - "touring bike" :bike_rider: My wife wasn't interested in doing much riding till I bought a big touring barge. Since I bought the Electra Glide and got her into some good gear she really enjoys it. So much so that almost every trip we've taken since has been a motorcycle trip...

    Pictures of Expedition Motorcycles

over the last couple of years I've done more traveling on this than in my Cruisers and my "adventure" bike. Anyone that thinks this isn't an adventure bike - well, they've probably never done much touring on an AMF-era Shovelhead. THAT'S an adventure :xxrotflma

    Ultimate Adventure Rider Jacket

I don't have an adventure-type bike (yet... ) so all my gear is for the street, and mainly geared toward touring. I have the Aerostitch Darien and like it for the most part. I don't think I'd like it as much if I lived in Arizona though! It's good for 3 seasons and a good portion of the summer...

Help Scotty decide on an Expedition Moto...

Congrats on a beautiful ride! I love the orange ones... When I took my test ride I was lucky enough to do it at the factory, accompanied (babysat would be more like it...) by one of their race team managers and one of their factory racers. They both LOVED the 950 (it was JUST hitting the market...

    american urban exploration

As long as I don't have to get my head smashed in by rednecks on the outskirts of town while I sleep, I'm all for it  Personally I'd rather do it on a proper touring bike, but I'm old (and I like touring bikes...) If you want to do it on a Sportster go for it. I would consider a...

Help Scotty decide on an Expedition Moto...

Those bikes kick ***. I've only ever done about a 15 minute ride on one, man it was T A L L ! I'm only 5'9" with a 32" inseam and the height was pretty disconcerting. It wasn't an "S" either! It was a pile of fun once I was underway though, and I'd still like a longer run on one to see if I...

Confessions of a novice rider part two: Riding the bike is the easy bit

Something like an Aerostitch Roadcrafter one piece suit might work for you. They supposedly go on or off in 10 seconds. Waterproof, very well made (in america), lots of pockets (the one on the sleeve would be perfect for your ID badge), armoured, lots of reflective material. You can geek right...

    Weight reduction and downsizing...

Oh yeah - I still have steel rims, but this made me think aluminum rims might be tougher than I gave them credit for. This was a 260 km/h blowout on the Autobahn. The rim was x-rayed by Benz techs and was totally sound and safe for re-use. I was impressed.

    Weight reduction and downsizing...

You know, it strikes me that this is one of the only places on the net that you could get a bunch of enthusiastic responses to a post about making your truck SMALLER! :sombrero: I envy your ACT trip. One of these years I'm going to make that run...

    Weight reduction and downsizing...

Dude, I love your truck! But if it's not meeting your current needs, why not change it? Even toned down some it would still be ridiculously capable. Just curious, are you headed to the Alaska Cruiser Trek? Just wondering as I recall reading that it wasn't planned to be as difficult this year as...
