    Importing a Japanese Cruiser...

I bought my 74 from Outback and would definitely recommend them. They do really nice work and deliver a sweet truck. They aren't cheap but in this case I think you get what you pay for. Here's mine when it still had the armour-all on the tires (never again...!)

    Optima Yellow Top groan...

FWIW, I went in to the place I buy batteries from recently planning on getting a yellow top to use as a 3rd battery for 12V accessories (24V truck). The sales guy quietly recommended I go with a Gel Tech instead (made by East Penn, who make Deka) saying it was a much better battery for less...

    Salvage bike advice?

Bruce, if you're interested in a KLR it's probably worth watching craigslist just across the line. These bikes seem to go quite a bit cheaper in the US than here. I've seen lots in the $3K range. I'd like to give one a go, they seem like a great fun bike for the $$$. My non-existant garage...

Need Mac Advice: Help Scotty to the dark side...

I had been using Entourage for mail and the Apple apps for everything else. I finally gave it up and started using Mail - it's all so neatly integrated with everything else that is was silly not to use it.

    2M Recommendations For Beginners Please!

Tacodoc, yes you need a license. The US test is easy, though there's lots more to learn if you end up interested. This is a good overview: http://tacomaterritory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17428 When I bought mine I didn't want buyer's remorse either and ended up with a Yaesu FT-8800. It has...

    Gears and Locker questions

Hey, if you're going to the trouble and expense of re-gearing, why not throw in the locker now? Think of the money you'll save NOT having to re-do the R+P set-up again in 9 months when you decide you really wanted that locker after all... You're welcome

    Newbie gear and such.

Helmets really are a personal thing. Different brands fit different shaped heads. Actually, different models by the same brand can fit different shaped heads. Shoei and Arai are 2 top end brands. After wearing a useless beanie for 15 years I got a full face. The Shoei RF1000 was a perfect fit...
