The right place for discussing expedition Sprinters?

Shouldn't they be called "Miler" or "Marathoner" instead of Sprinter? OK, how 'bout some of that info you mentioned.

Spent the weekend with a Land Rover and a Pinz in Washington's Olympic Mountain range. The Pinzgauer was very cool. Suprised at how small it was.

    Ever heard of Alu-Star/

I would also enjoy seeing it. I am building a much smaller van.

    Pop top installation cost?

They had my van for a week and a half. I did tell him to take his time though, because if the van was away, maybe I'd finally get some house projects done. Try to book an install before spring time. I shopped around and didn't send a deposit check until almost May, and they couldn't fit me in...

    Pop top installation cost?

I just had a GTRV installed a few weeks ago. I let them know that they were more expensive than SMB and they said that was a suprise. I thought it may be a case of Astro parts (lower quantitiess/higher per unit costs) vs full size van parts (higher quantities/lower per unit costs) but I guess...

Thats too funny. Yeah, small community. Yeah, Froader, it was Paul alright. I told him I'd be following him a lot on that trip because i really like the way his rig looks. Ha. He's a blast. When we'd go thru the creeks, he likes to stop and back up and kinda rinse his under carriage like...

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

Au Contraire, mon ami. Before, I had it mounted to my Thule racks. Since I installed the top, its now mounted to the van itself, so I can utilize the awning while the top is popped. (see above picture camping by the creek). Yeah, I agree, it would darn near be useless if it popped along with...

Building Camp Kitchen for Production - Need Feedback!!

Possibly a way to fasten poles to the back side of each end, as to be able to run a wind screen from one end to the other. Sold seperately if need be, the wind screen awning kit. Attach the lite weight DWR nylon to the roof rack of the vehicle, over the kitchen to the back side poles and...

Thanks for the props, guys, and the editing tips. I kinda wish GM would have built a ZR2 version of the Astro, but on the other hand, it's been a fun build and bit rare. Thule sourced the awning from Carefree. Its the same as the Carefree Sidewinder. Its a love/hate relationship. I feel...

2001 GMC 2500 4X4, 6.0 V8, EC, LB and stock. What are its limits?

Try this thread. If its something that looks feasible, look for a used one. IF you like it, then its all about an efficient loading/unloading station for the truck accessories. And a used FWC can retain its value well. http://expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1322
