NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

I have the same light to show my headlights are on. It used to be for us with the diesels to say the auxiliary engine heater was running. But it freaked out people being a red light so it got turned off during a “software update” after about a year of production. And I was getting...

A "Toyota Guy" Buys a Classic

A Land Rover is never truly dead. Get it back and fix it. Granted it will take time and effort but it's a rare Classic model and you had plans for it. You'll always wonder what could have been if you dont...

    GOODYEAR mtr 255 55 19

Good luck, haha. I have one as a spare, it was after a nearly new Duratrac blew a sidewall and i needed a spare quickly. So i got a half worn one with alloy for a cheap price. I've had it on a couple of times and you can tell it's on, it's noticeably louder than the Duratracs with it's own...

    LR3 Control Arms

I did the uppers on mine at 117,000. They in all honesty, were fine but I was changing a lot of bits so did them as well. They weren't that expensive. For the front lowers, RRS arms are a good upgrade, same arm but with better bush design so should last longer. Rear uppers, RRS again, better...

    LR4 multi purpose duty

Can you get a picture of it so I can compare to my own kit? Mine has never been fitted but was made a few years ago, I want to say 2012, and it's been in the U.K. but never sold till I saw it at a Land Rover show and made a low ball offer on it.

    LR4 multi purpose duty

Watching as I also have a front runner tank to fit to mine. I like your fuel level sender idea. Going to copy that. I owe you a beer or two. I'm going to have to get creative for that mount you have had issues with as it's also used as the back mount for my Prospeed diff guard. I also have a...

    Project Victory_Overland 08 LR3 Build Thread!

Looking good Eric. There is roughly an inch of difference in tdv6 to v8 brake discs. So the new carriers will be to move everything in an inch. Quite a lot of us in the U.K. go the other way and bin the tdv6 carriers for the v8 ones for the upgrade in braking. I have V8 rear carriers but 4...

Compressor change - differences in brand, type?

Excellent Eric! looking forward to seeing it with them on. Mine hasn't really changed for a while.

    Compressor/Tank Guard

I have the Prospeed one. It's pretty solid, covers the full compressor and also is strong enough to be used as a jacking point. Just fit a line of tape with foam or other padding to go between the guard and the chassis rail as it can sometimes rattle otherwise

Compressor change - differences in brand, type?

Late to this but my 2p on it. I had a Hitachi on my 3, It got tired, would fault out etc and i bought off a Dealers ebay store, a new AMK, it came with the plumbing, new relay and the top and bottom covers, it was on the new bracket, i also got 3 new chassis mounting clips and 3 new bolts. I...

Top 3 things you hate about your LR3 and Top 3 things you like

Aftermarket blue tooth can be done. Personally, I’m fitting a LR4 Bluetooth one because it will go with the nearly new heated leather flappy paddle LR4 wheel I’ve got for it. Plus all wiring and control modules to make it work. Nice factory install to keep it neat. My 3 had the suspension...

Overland Journal Project Land Rover Discovery 4 (LR4)

You gave them it back? Shame but It was pretty cool to see it out and about. Do you a final list and round up of what got done to it?

Overland Journal Project Land Rover Discovery 4 (LR4)

Passed this car on I15 North about 10am on Saturday. Between mile posts 100-124 you were lurking close in the rear mirror. Looks good in the flesh. Was a nice surprise heading from Vegas to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and seeing this on the road.

Top 3 things you hate about your LR3 and Top 3 things you like

Likes. 1. Practicality. 2. Range. ( suck it petrol users ) :p 3. Ability off road. Dislikes. 1. Lack of Bluetooth and cost to retrofit it. 2. Cost of modifications compared to other Landrover models. 3. Weight can hinder it.

    front runner ladder- lr4

Just to add to VO earlier post. I have had all 4 rack corners, the complete expedition tail kit and the full rack mounting system replaced under warranty on my full length slimline2 rack. Rust issues noticed at 3 months old!! Granted Scotland isn't a easy place for metal but it was fitted in...

Emotion Over Logic - The AdvRovr Range Rover Sport Build Thread

Interesting project and good luck with sorting the suspension issues. One reason I stay in factory sizes. Less hassle. Not to be that guy, but while it's great to plan mods and I've been guilty of this myself. I would get it checked to make sure it's 100% mechanical wise. It's at that mileage...

    Rack opinions

Do you have pictures of the deflector? I have a full length slimline 2 on my 3. Great rack, strong and anything can get attached to it as long as you have a M8 bolt to fit in the T slot grooves. My only complaint is the rails and rack corners on mine started to rust very quickly, I got them...

    Which LR3 to buy?

Strange as the UK spec has the HSE seats being different in padding and foam shape to the other specs. To the point they are in demand from breakers for people buying and fitting for the extra comfort over other spec seats. Would have thought that LR would have made that a standard issue...

    Which LR3 to buy?

I would try and get a HSE, for the better spec and the less chance of it being used off road. Although, i've off roaded mine with the 19s for 5 years so it can be done. The HSE has the best seats, sound system etc. HSE seats are different to the other specs. The logic 7 sound system is better...

Anyone mount a RTT on LR4 Genuine roof rack?

I looked into this last year when I had such a rack on my 3. Spoke to a person who had used a RTT on his and he said "don't bother" the factory rack wasn't strong enough to take the load with the rails up, it would creak and move about when in use. He now has a FR slimline2 rack for his tent...
