I've seen that light setup on several competition rigs from Oz. Most are just mounted high and protected with that loop but many are made to swing up to decrease resistance on high speed runs where the lights aren't needed.
We have a guy that's built something similar to that on NOR but it's...
Yep, 2001 and later ones had all that plastic nosing. The 2000 was the only year they produced a Crewcab w/o it. That's what I have. Lots of guys kinda moaned when Nissan did that due to the fact that they had to cut plastic to fit some sort of armor up front.
I agree. They can pretty much answer anything you need to know.
As for the forum, I must totally agree. There are still some of the old cronies that hang around - Brent, Andy, Brian and some others that I know only by handle - that are extremely helpful.
Visit them for Nissan parts WAY...
What kind of equipment?
www.4x4parts.com - dedicated Nissan only equipment
www.calmini.com - lift
www.nissanoffroad.net - dedicated Nissan forum (I'm and admin over there but like this site quite a bit too)
Parts availability is getting better.
The other day I saw a black TRD with an ARB. The front marker lights which are normally just "on" had been modified to be turn signals and were LED's. Very slick.
Anyone know of this modification or are the newer ARB's coming that way?
Yeah that's pretty much an accurate assessment. I have no major complaints. Just wish I had that 4.2 turbo diesel from Oz.
Hints...
1. don't bother with the Hiclone or other offbrand intakes - they don't contribute enough.
2. Get rid of the resonator on the drivers side fender.
3. Do...
I'd say mod 1. I've been rather cautious about putting a gas can on the outside of a vehicle. Especially on the rear of one.
Nice design either way.
Curious...is there a reason you put the trailer hitch under the bumper instead of cutting a hole in the middle of it?
Sounds like you've done quite a bit of work on your rig.
I agree 100% with the roof rack. I had lights on top of mine, on top of the stock roof rack. When that came off not only did the mpg and power go up but the noise level came down.
Sounds like you're heading in the right direction...
Aaah, you beat me to it. I've had mine for about two or so months and love it! I wanted to do a review as well but baby has kept me busy.
Mine fit just fine and is VERY durable. I backed into some limbs froma a cedar tree that had been recently cut. In other words they were quite sharp...
