Getting a LR3, best forum and lift?

Oh forgot the alignment question - it is best to take it to a dealer or a good indy that has the right computer systems. Due to the airbag system, the computers need to be put into "tight tolerance" mode so that the vehicle doesn't move while the alignment is being performed.

Getting a LR3, best forum and lift?

4 US forums to check (www.lrrforums.com , www.landroverworld.org, www.landroversonly.com, www.landroverforums.com )- None "really" stands out as a number one - but I included them in the best order. As mentioned disco3.co.uk is great. www.aulro.com is the best Austrailian forum. Lift rods...

    LR3 Winch Tray?

I'd love to see someone make a steel bumper that used the hidden winch mount idea. I hate adding almost a foot to the front of the vehicle just to put a winch on. There is no reason to make the bumper stick out any farther than factory. * Hint Hint to any manufacturers reading this :ylsmoke:

    LR3/DII/Tahoe

Following up on what Dave said: Member 'Character' over on disco3.co.uk I believe rolled over 400k miles on his LR3 just a couple months ago. Atlantic British just launched a EAS to coil conversion for not much coin. You will loose the terrain response, but the stock coilers never had this...

Anybody doing an LR3 as an off-road rig?

Yes the dang exhaust does hang low? Has anyone tried to route this up and tight against the floor? I know some have cut it off in front of the diff, but the whole fumes in the cabin isn't really good on long/slow runs or when sitting idling.

Anybody doing an LR3 as an off-road rig?

LR4 has a different engine, interior dash design, larger brakes (which make 19's a requirement), headlights, grill, front fenders, bumpers. Most everything else is the same. If the product doesn't involve one of those areas it should fit.

Anybody doing an LR3 as an off-road rig?

I just picked up an 08 LR3 HSE w/ rear locker. This is a fantastic rig and the best SUV I have driven or owned. Central Diff lock is standard, rear is an option (can be hard to find). No one makes an aftermarket rear locker and adding the OEM locker is WAY too hard - but 1 person in the UK has...

    LR3 - LR4 Resources

In for info as the LR4 appears to be the next purchase - just waiting for the first couple years to roll buy. Disclaimer: I don't know anything particular about the LR3/LR4 - But It would seem that there should be an easy solution to the "air bags deflating on the trail due to computer...

    Poor Turning Circle???

Yes well the wife want's interior features (bluetooth, nav. blah blah) and leather in a package that looks good. Ride quality really isn't a concern thankfully. Although she really loves the 7 seat (adult sized) ability of the LR4, which is why it is on the list... the reliabilty and excessive...

    Poor Turning Circle???

Yes I do appreciate everyones comments. Stats on paper are fine for comparison, but they mean jack in the real world. I'm looking for a more luxury off-roader (I tainted her with the Audi and she won't accept anything less...oops) So I'm down to a LR4, G-wagen or GX470.

Holy smokes check out this LR4

Damn that is a hot looking rig. I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that the LR4 is the vehicle for me... and this didn't help it much

    Poor Turning Circle???

Well I was hoping the specs were being reported wrong all over the place, but here are some quotes I found in my searching: The core G-Wagen is built like a battleship and has a similar turning circle http://www.trucktrend.com/features/163_0702_mercedes_benz_g_class/index.html With its...

    Poor Turning Circle???

I'm looking into getting a vehicle to setup as a mild expedition/weekend camper/fire trails rig. I'm looking at a G-wagen as a medium size 4x4 with great potential. But in looking at the specs the truning circle is somthing like 43.5 ft. I have a rather tight entrance into my house off of an...
