Oh yes! So glad I didn't worry too much about making it pretty. Fido has had a hard hard life in my ownership. But with proper maintenance the truck has been absolutely trouble free so far. Allan

I used oak. Must be a hardwood. Pressure treated is too soft. Soft wood will compress and cause your U bolts to come loose.

I am a big fan of the stock bumper. Just threw a receiver hitch underneath for my bike rack and away we go!

In conditions like this I never touch the brakes. Just let the engine control the speed in as low a gear as necessary. In any case we opted to circle the wagons and camp for the night prior to trying any downhill sections. By morning it was much less sketchy. Allan
