Big is good
we need something huge to fill the space available in the 2 new "amphibious" (read aircraft carriers) ships the government has signed up to
problem will be I dont think we have landing craft that big
but that has never stopped the powers that be going on a big spend on useless...
Anyone else see the irony in the first pics from an Aussie show being Jeeps
Give the poor bloke a break
he has to look at mitsis and isuzus all day every day
surely a jeep would be a novelty change
BTW John love the shots of the desert truck
showed it to the wife
she said NO
true
but not everyone has the abilty or resources to make thier own gear
mind you being able to self customise is handy with the amount of off the shelf gear for canters
my advise to MAB is have a bash
if you screw it up try again
eventually youll get it just the way you want it
also if you can...
MAB
unfortunatley I made them myself
the timber work was the easy part I had to beg to the wife to do the covering.
I searched for someone who makes consoles for the canter but not much luck
I think ATW do a centre consoles for thier trucks, it might be worth giving john a yell
no thats ok alan

Just curious if im the only waeco owner on the planet that has to repair thermistors on a regular basis
The CF80 & 110 comes with 2 fitted thermistors (obvious waeco expects problems) and ive now gone through both of them
now i could send it off to the waeco doctor hand over a couple of hundred...
.Your method would make for much safer loading of the bike than many other systems I have seen.
until the winch fails then it would be a bugga to get it all up there
the 20 cent tour part 2
my apologies
im currently in a spot with poor internet
The Outboard
I keep my little 15hp motor between the cab and body on a fold away trolley
the idea is it holds keeps the motor well out of the way and can act as a service stand when required
the best part is by...
As requested by John of ATW fame (yes I take requests) this is the tour of my 07 649 extra SWB
The Truck
the concept behind the design of the body was to carry all my wordly possesions and have a "ready in a minute" sleeping area
the top half is a no clutter accomodation area that we use when...
Prior to leaving we brought a Primus 3 way fridge and had it wired for 12 volt operation,
Against advice we chose a 3 way fridge, but i must say it performed excellent.
Vince
not sure about the primus fridge but if its like most 3 ways the 12 volt is constant and may knock you battery to...
would you like to do start a seperate thread on your truck and show how your boat loader and bike rack operates, John.
John
id love to - love showing off
there are a few pics of the truck, van combo on my profile
ill get some detailed pics of bike and boat loader and post them
WRT the bike...
That'll make use of the space between the bike and the back wall as a result of the handlebar width.
John
I carry my v strom on a custom bike loader on the back, its got pretty wide bars and ive got it as far back as possible without compromising balance for loading
not a great deal of room...
alan

now im not so sure
im not sure about the rest...
And here lies the problem
my experience driving interstate heavy vehicles has proven the stupidity of the regulatory bodies in this great country
for those not aware, we have a national set of laws for heavy vehicles agreed by all states for the safe operation of heavy vehicles on the nations...
