Update- picked up the ambulance on Jan 8th. Everything regarding the rig was in fairly good condition. Electrical system including inverter all fully functional. Only very minor surface rust on frame- extremely low rust for a vehicle from this region. All good mechanically, but I put a new set...
Hello ambulance people. I just got my new ambulance home and started the tear down for my camper conversion. It's a 2003 E-350 with the 7.3L diesel and a quigley conversion. The box is made by wheeled coach. I'm incredibly pleased with the build quality of the box and electrical systems, and...

Ad details say 4wd. Good deal if it's actually a 4x4 and in good condition.
Wow, MSRP of this truch was under $20k brand new off the lot. 18 years and 46k miles later and it's barely depreciated at all. That's pretty amazing- gotta love the taco.
@bad_andy24
Yup, and what a great build! "Crazy" price being relative of course- there are many out there willing to shell out, I'm not 'fortunate' enough to be one of them.
Thanks for the offer- will do! I'm sure to run into at least a handful of questions!
Only 3k miles. Currently at $6500. Looks like a good start to an RV build with a pass through to cab, lots of cabinets/storage, Electric, AC, fridge, etc. already there for you.

Will agree that if you can do it yourself, it's the way to go. Find a good service manual, a few good youtube videos, and most tasks are easily completed at home with basic tools. Added bonus of a gained sense of satisfaction and an expanded skillset after completion.
With that being said, I...
This is seriously the cleanest runner I've seen in a while. Price is very reasonable (a steal in my opinion considering the tasteful upgrades).
I'm pretty sure I've seen this one cruising around (I'm in neighboring San Clemente)
GLWS!
Wow, expo members were active on there! Haha not gonna lie, it's always hard not to be a little mad at the other bidders. That's the nature of an auction I guess! Which one were you (what did you username start and end with?)
EDIT: Ok, I'm guessing you're the d*****7 guy... No worries, couple...
Had my eye on this govdeals auction, but since I just bought a different ambulance, wanted to share. Looks clean, low miles. Currently at $10k
This is the 6.0L diesel, but it is one of the later years that tend to be less troublesome...
@nyyankees588 Thanks for that spec sheet - I'm sure that will come in handy. And yes, I've been combing through a lot of awesome ambulance builds giving me plenty to be excited about. This conversion for sale here on expo helped me convince the wife of the potential value of these vehicles-...
And here I thought I was being sly. Nice work detective.
I was looking for some honest evaluations of the price- didn't want anyone being nice just to avoid hurting my feeling.
But now that I can openly celebrate , YEAH BABY!
I have family out in West Virginia so I took it as a sign to go...
Damn, It looks like 4runner prices are a bit inflated in your region (kind of like Tacomas here in CO). Just last week I helped my friend pick up a very nice condition 3rd gen with 200k, 4x4, rear locker, limited for $4500 down in Southern California.
Here in Colorado we picked up an...
Are you willing to flex your model year rage requirements and go 1-2 years older?
If so, then the 3rd generation 4runner would be an excellent candidate for you in all other areas. The 3.4l motors in those cars are nearly unmatched in reliability and longevity. You should be able to find one...
