    1993 Camel Trophy 200TDI

I love this truck. The fact it is a proper piece of LR history and the story of how it got to the US, what happened and how it drifted out of memory and was forgotten to be brought back. Use it, but i wouldn't change too much. Make it water tight and make it drive well but leave the scar's and...

    Non-lead Foot LR3 Owners Question

The 300tdi is a great engine, plenty here have outlasted the original disco bodyshell and now live in defenders and series landys. The LR3 does have an extra ton or so weight over the D1. The tdv6 is a good engine as well, with regular servicing and good fuel, the highest miles I've seen on...

    Non-lead Foot LR3 Owners Question

The app is road trip LE. It's a free one. The diesels suffer a bit as in standard form they lack the grunt of the v8 so you end up working the engine harder. My area is hilly as well so more fuel wasted. The off road tyres have taken 3 mpg so with road ones it would be showing 26.3, on a good...

    Non-lead Foot LR3 Owners Question

Uk diesel owner. This includes winter driving, off road use and trailer towing. 90% of my driving is urban and my drive to work is only 4 miles. I also have a rather mud filled intercooler which needs cleaned out and the Duratracs have taken 3 mpg off my average.

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

Bought it a set of 19 inch RRS V Spoke alloys to replace the standard 19 HSE wheels as mine were badly corroded and generally a mess. The price i paid for them and 7 part worn tyres was a steal. Trying to buy my way into it's good books after having a little "moment" and sticking it into a...

Talk to me about the LR3

Can anyone tell me the name of the tool that you plug in to raise the suspension further up, it works like the johnson rods but once you have the days off roading over, you plug it back in and lower the car back to factory heights and drive home. I can't remember what it's called.

At the start of yesterday's fun, good course, very dry so lots of dust blowing about which didn't help grip on a few hill climbs or descents. TC got a good workout. Also, D3s make a very good anchor for defenders needing to winch out of mud holes....

LR3 advice needed. Transfer box issues

Right guys and girls. Hoping you can help shed some light on a issue a friends D3 is having. 3 weeks ago, he damaged the seals of the transfer box after grounding out on some rocks, caused by a compressor overheat and deflate. Now, he bought new genuine LR seals and the "Special oils" ( name...

Range rover diesel hybrid on the Silk Road

They fitted the 1,000,000th Discovery with Duratrac's for it's trip across Europe and Asia, i would imagine they would do the same again for the Range rover. Very cool trip though, nice way to test the new tech in some interesting terrain.

    LR4 Reliability

The LR4 gets the 3.0 diesel. It has 255 bhp, 443lb ft of torque. Does 0-60 in 8.7 and can return high 30s on a run. They are a totally different beast from my 2.7 diesel. If you are getting them in a few year's then you will enjoy them. Great low down pick up and they rev cleanly through to...

Thoughts on tire selection for LR3 (AT vs MT)

I have 255/55/19 Duratrac's fitted to my Discovery 3. They have been on since January and have covered 7000 miles of almost every terrain possible. From foot deep snow and ice, to flooded motorways, to sand, mud, gravel, rocks and clay. They are a bit noisier than the road tyres i had before, (...

    LR3 underbody protection

If I wish to buy and spend a few grand on buying and shipping over the Atlantic.. I have drawings to make my own, which will be as good as those companies. I'm asking, is steel or aluminium a better metal to use for the underbody stuff.

    LR3 underbody protection

A mate has been given the drawings and dimensions to full under body protections and rock sliders for the LR3. Now, with both of using our car's as Land Rover intended, and him already having suffered transfer box damage after his air suspension lowered after overheating, landing on a rock and...

Post pictures of your Land Rover.

Small video of my Disco3 climbing a hill. Site is actually a British army training ground and is rather good for all models of Land Rover's, even the freelander was suited to it. http://youtu.be/nRhgqXet-VY I didn't take the video, before anyone tells me off for it being small etc.. You can...

    GY Duratrac issues

I have 255/55/19 ones on my Disco3, have covered just over 7,000 miles in them. Mine didn't seem funny when fitted but then I had pretty much worn out road tyres on before them so if anything they were an improvement. No issues in dry or wet weather. Snow and ice doesn't seem to brother them...

Moving from a JKU to and LR3?

Excellent turning circle for a car of it's size, it's big and boxy so easy to place for parking as well. Bright airy cabin around you, plenty of cup holders to hold junk. Massive boot for shopping. Heated seats and memory function for ease of setting the seat up for you/her. Good sound system...

Talk me into or out of a LR3

I have a 05 model Disco3, it's sitting on 109k but is a diesel being as i live in the UK. The basic mechanical parts are the same though. By 100k it should have had the following changed for new parts. Front wishbones, if it knocks going over a bump, then that's the ball joints needing...
