    Copper Canyon Bike ride

We defrosted our bikes the next morning ad dressed for the cold weather, it was colder in Creel Mexico, than it was in Red Deer Alberta....go figure...7700 feet might have something to do with that . I also decided to check my air box before we took off after riding some dirt the day before...

    Copper Canyon Bike ride

After breakfast in Yecora we kept on the main road to Maicoba, rather than staying on the main road we decided to take a shorter but rougher route through Moris to Ocampo. Leaving Maicoba the road looks like a really bad driveway, complete with water crossings. Shortly after we hit the dirt road...

    Copper Canyon Bike ride

I have a friend, who had just returned from a trip pretty close to ours 5 days before we departed. He was traveling in a group of 3, one being a missionary who worked around Creel. I spoke with him while I was heading down and he said they had seen a lot of cartel activity and got held up when...

    Copper Canyon Bike ride

The next morning we had a great breakfast and made tracks to Banimichi, hoping to hit a fuel supply, the roads were great, not dirt but super twisty and beautiful pavement, scenery was getting better too. My bike, before extensive on the road mods. One of the many extravagant shrines on this...

    Copper Canyon Bike ride

Got the text from a good friend "Copper Canyon, you in?" I immediately sent a "yes" It was the dead of winter and I didn't even look where it was just knew I had to get the hell out of the grip of winter, or at least something warmer to look forward too. Said friend rounded up a total of 6 for...

Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 CrewCab Expedition Build in Canada

THAT really sucks Andreas, we have had our fair share of trucking/shipping issues. We ended up buying our own truck/trailer for that reason alone. Are you going to be hit with the extended shipping costs or is the shipper on the hook?

No response, I really didn't expect anything from folks like that.

Overland Explorer Composite Off Road Trailer

Hey TRD, We have narrowed the back end up and built a set of round tube style fenders on paper. We just finished up another trailer and the customer wanted the wider fender and step so I haven't had the chance to build one with the new fender/step combo yet. I will post some pics when we get to...

    Dodge Ram 5500 motorhome

Hey Ward if you want to see something kinda weird, check out Salton City and check the history out. It's about an hour from Glamis.

Overland Explorer Composite Off Road Trailer

Hi Laurie, I really appreciate your observations and comments, living in a country where this kind of product and a lot of ingenuity related to the application is and has been developed for years makes your insights complimentary. We have recognized a company out of Australia as having the best...

Overland Explorer Composite Off Road Trailer

Thanks Laurie. The composite body shell itself weighs only 209 lbs without extrusions. The rest is all chassis, wheels, tires, etc. There are a few places you could shave weight but you'd have to be pretty concious of its end use. It has 3500 lb suspension components and electric brakes which...

Overland Explorer Composite Off Road Trailer

The trailer could definitely be used on road, that particular trailer came in at 1900 pounds with water tank, propane tank, and battery. The battery is in the front storage compartment and the propane is in the rear cabinet on the side. Propane can also be mounted on the tongue as can be the...

    European company misrepresenting products

Here is a screen shot and a pic of my truck I pulled off the web. My Visa card got scammed last week, but I'm well insured against people like that, I do put guys like this in the same category, and if I could buy insurance against this practise I would. Andreas, maybe your guys in Germany want...

    European company misrepresenting products

We must be doing something right for the Euros or the Chinese to blatantly use our images and claim them to be products of their own. I'm not sure if there's a business connection of if the Chinese factory in their link is hijacked imagery as well but it's all part of the package. Victorian, I...

Not of the hinge, but I will get some when we put this one together.

Overland Explorer Composite Off Road Trailer

Just some shots of another TDK going together, more shop space to help with the build schedule is happening so this is getting started before the shop is completely ready, hence the trailer. The whole trailer is cut on a cnc router and the whole design is interlocking. Perimeter extrusions go on...

Overland Explorer Composite Off Road Trailer

The rear hinge is 1/4" pin continuous or "piano" hinge in stainless. A rain gutter above, and below keeps the water out open or closed, I liked the idea of the hurricane hinge but disliked the quality.

    Spray foam vs sheets

https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.system-200-2-component-spray-foam-kit.1000718744.html Thats a Canadian site but I imagine you could get it in the USA, great stuff for small projects. Spray foam will definitely "tighten up" the structure/skin, and insulate better.

Overland Explorer Composite Off Road Trailer

I don't see why the tub and rack couldn't be sold separately, we've made a lid available so why not. There are so many ways to configure these trailers, and with the design pretty easy to make happen. We are doing one with a really simplified kitchen area right now, assembly will be in a few...
