I had a Xterra, bought a Tacoma, just went back to a Nissan. I'm unbiased, drive what works and like a solid vehicle, the Nissan is definitely a more solid vehicle and has a very "planted" feel on the road. The frame in my Tacoma was a complete joke compared to any of my Nissans, and it was very...
I'd have to drive sideways for the roof rack to have an effect! It's far enough back that it's out of the wind. 80 MPH has more to do with the dismal mpg number, but I'm usually in a hurry so that's what it costs.....
I fooled the experienced! I LOVE the look of the HEMTT, but wouldn't want to try and get 75MPH out of one!
That is a no mile M939A2 chassis with a brand new HEMTT cab, quick rebuild on the steering box to bring the input in from the front and you have a killer 5 ton cab forward 6x6, crank the...
Thanks for the props guys, I'm doing 2 series of Sprinter cab chassis builds for our own rental fleet, geared towards travel for 2 or 4 people, and being built in a production environment. That doesn't mean slapped together by bottle depot refugees, rather assembled from the same line of modular...
Thanks for coming out everybody, it was busy and I may never had a chance to meet some folks so my apologies, it was busy! Thanks for all the comments and suggestions, positive or negative, it's all great info and helps us make cool stuff!
Thanks guys. We chose the 60" width based on discussions we had with potential buyers and other builders. We will have a skinnier version available too, but a lot of people really like the idea of a queen bed, myself included. The design is typical that the perimeter frame protects the body...
Hi Ward, have a great trip! We use a main breaker and the pump is hot while we are in the unit, shut it off for travelling, and have an overflow on the fresh tank. With 120 gallons of fresh we've used it a few times! Easy enough to plumb into an existing system (usually).
Starting price will be finalized pretty quick, it will definitely be figured out for Pomona. The goal is to be very competitive pricewise and it is shaping up that way, a lot of design time with efforts made to maximize cnc technology reduce labor costs substantially so there is a nice offset in...
Thanks Clutch, from your Avatar it looks like we share an interest. I ride a KTM 300XC, hit as many hare scrambles and cross countries as I can. Super tight, steep, technical single track on the Eastern Slopes, beat the crap out of me this year, must be getting old!
They naturally stiffen up a bit but the durometer of the rubber and the hollow design keeps them pretty pliable considering. At room temp I can flex the suspension on a bare frame an inch or so with my own body weight.
Thanks for the comments guys!
Every tube is laser cut so the fit is incredibly accurate and complex joints are easy, it reduces build time and a technology that lets us produce a high quality product much quicker. If you look close at the pic of the rear of the frame below (look through the...
Hi Sam, this is the widest version, there will be a JK compatible track, and quite possible one more width for the earlier Wrangler size. We are also really looking at doing a 5' tall interior height option. One of our partners Off Grid Trailers is almost done building a 5' tall version with...
