    ImNoSaint's H3 Build

Blue Ridge Overland Gear I'll admit it. Most my OCD is manifest in putting stuff in the right spot. The H3 is short of spots and in my quest to sort out its interior I came upon Blue Ridge Overland Gear. They're a company out of Virginia who make high quality MOLLE, hoop and loop, pouches and...

    ImNoSaint's H3 Build

Bugout-Bag Retainer Stowage is hard to come by in the H3 when it's configured and packed for overlanding, making me evaluate any possible nook as a space to store gear. I keep a bug-out-bag (BOB) on board at all times and have been stuffing it under the dog deck making it difficult to...

    1991 Isuzu Trooper Overlanding Build

Impeccable build, writing and photography. One other little draw back to the Gen I was the impossibility of removing a cassette out of the tape deck while cruising in fifth gear. Petty, I know. I loved mine. Thanks for the time and detail.

I need a good quality 6 man tent

Great choice - the last tent you'll ever buy, unless you sell it, and then you'll want to buy another one. +1 what Honu is saying about seasoning. I used a mister and was good to go.

I need a good quality 6 man tent

Kodiak's springbar is an exceptional tent. We've also used budget considerations, too. Check it out here.

We Won the Lottery! In February...

Glad you made it, especially to Whitmore. There's so much to see there. Mother nature has closed that weather window at this point. Look us up next time you're down.

Are roof racks really worth it?

I considered Gobi, a fan of their construction and coverage, but I calculated what would be going up top, plus the type of roads I'm navigating, much off-camber, and decided to scale down the size of rack. I went with a Garvin sport rack, given the sparse cargo room of my rig, it allowed for...

Sabre's Gen III Project: cladding removal and trail armor

+1 that. I like the darker tone.

Great post, stunning photos. We passed you along the way in Zion on our way back from Vermillion. You're not hard to miss.

    Geological Exclamation Points

The land here is much like the weather. Change minutes to miles and in just a few, things are going to be dramatically different. Long stretches of featureless desert are punctuated by geological exclamation points, not the least of which is Horseshoe Bend, Arizona. I don't mean to understate...

Went for a drive in my backyard.

Great backyard. I've got one like that, too. Perhaps we could arrange a trade sometime.

    ImNoSaint's H3 Build

Safari Straps Cargo Net Install I ordered a 41X28 1" Safari Straps Cargo Net from Amazon and installed it. It's dimensions were just about perfect. I attached the net to the seatbelt guides that are bolted on the C-pillars. The base of the net is attached to hardware loops that are welded...

    ImNoSaint's H3 Build

Dog-Deck Install Our dogs spend more time than any backseat passengers in the H3, as they did when we had the Montero. I did a rear-seat mod on it to make dog travel easier on all of us. Having made a great improvement in traveling with the Goldens, as well as increasing storage capacity, I...

    New guy with gen3 montero

I'm currently running Dynapros oversized +1. We track in deep sand, limestone, mud and daily commute on freeway. They're quiet, have no air-down issues, and so far have handled our varied terrain. I ran Cooper Discoverers on my Monty Gen III and was equally impressed.

Extra low Auxilary side steps for lifted vehicles. Do they exist? How do I find?

I see. So much for that. Best wishes.

Extra low Auxilary side steps for lifted vehicles. Do they exist? How do I find?

If this is a temporary issue, and I'm guessing you're helping her in and out of the car as well, why not a simple collapsable step stool that you can stash in the back?

Restoring the "Hummer" Brand to it's former glory! - H3 Build

Crickets here for awhile. I'd certainly appreciate learning more about your winch install. I've found a couple of other approaches, but your work on this H3 has been exemplary. Hope to see more from you.

    ImNoSaint's H3 Build

SeatBackPack The H3's front seats have a small cargo stowage system on the back of each that serves little practical purpose and when packed just a smidgeon beyond their capacity, detach from the seat back and spill the contents in the rear footwell. It's the worst designed feature of the H3's...
