Photoshop
Hey Xrunner,
Could you please do some more photoshop for me? I want to see how the plane (just the upper window area without the button part) would look over the ambulance box where the pop top is.
Thanks for all the feedback. Keep it coming. The cutting into the diamond plate box is for access and will not result in a loss of space there. As far as the plane's side door, I think I will glue it shut because of the difficulty in sealing it.
Thanks Xrunner for the photoshop!
Let's...
So what you guys are saying is that it looks unnatural with that much overhang? Would reducing the overhang blend the two better? I made the front flat to match the truck's hood. Also I want to install a window in the front for view and ventilation. I could not do that with a curved nose; it...
Yes or No to the Plane?
What do you guys think? Should I mount the plane or not? Do I need to do something more to blend the two styles together?
I sat inside of the plane and it is a very cool space. I just don't want it to look goofy. I want something unique that is pleasing to the eye...
I assume your asking about the ambulance roof. The roof is made of a series of 2"x2" aluminum tubing, then covered by a sheet of aluminum. I think we partially cut four of those 2"x2" out and then welded in 2"x2" on both sides of the hole and then covered them with welded on plates. The pop...
The marine water heater works without any power when when you are driving. The 120v option I plan on using if I'm hooked up or maybe with generator. I don't like either of those options because I won't be staying at places with hook ups and the generator is more for emergency. I don't think...

The marine hot water heater is Seaward. It's about $270 for galvanized steel 6 gallon unit, $389 for an aluminum unit. They work on 120v and hook up to your engine to use its heat. To add the solar hot water heater is another $500. The solar company is http://www.heliatos.com/Home.html...
I will be using a marine hot water heater that will be plumbed into the motor to work as a heat exchanger. I don't know where to connect yet. The diesel system looks neat but its pricey, probably out of my range. How much was your unit? I'm thinking of adding a solar water heater to...
This rig keeps getting more awesome!!! It seems like you have an Isotemp hot water heater. You previously mentioned getting an Espar diesel water heater. I'm currently working on my water system and was wondering what hot water heater system you are using?
Thanks,
Hani
I also reduced the height of the plane by cutting out the floor, shortening the sides and then riveting in some angle aluminum in order to have material to weld in the new floor. And I shortened the length of it. I need to seal some seams and gaps and it will be ready to mount. I finished...
Since I was already dealing with leaks and water damage, I figured I should start to fix the rusty rain gutters on the truck. I wire brushed all the rust off and all these holes appeared. Then I used Ospho a metal converter to stop the rust and then sprayed on a self etching primer. I filled...
I've been working on finishing the interior. I had most of the wood cut and in place then it rained and I found a few leaks. So I took out all the exterior ambulance lights and covered those holes with aluminum. Those lights let in a good amount of water. After I seal up everything I will...
John,
Your system is well design and smart. I'm going to build a motorcycle rack on my rig. Your experience will go a long way. If you have the time to take some more detailed photos of your carrier, it would be greatly appreciated. Best of luck with your trip.
Thanks,
Hani
Hey Mark,
Thanks for the reply. If you had a motorcycle how often would you use it? I'm trying think what situations you would use it in, would it be seriously used or a luxury, and would a bicycle do the job?
Happy Trails,
Hani
