    Mortonm's 2001 Xterra Build

Its been almost exactly two years since I picked up the Xterra, in that time I have put on 52,000 km. I actually sit at 199 200 km on the truck as I type this, which means that I am about to roll over 120,000 miles. I hope to get many more years out of it. The tires I put on almost since day...

Nothing wrong with being picky, its going to have to sit on the front of your truck for a long time. If you settled with the ARB you would see it everytime you got in and it would piss you off. I like the shrock stuff as well, you will just have to wait for it, hopefully not too long!

    C.Shontz 2001 Jeep Cherokee (Progress)

Quite a few tires, BFG AT among them come in 255 70 R16. Pretty much exactly inbetween 245 75 and 265 75. Best of both worlds? Edit: I was wrong. That's only 30" tall, shoter than the 245 75

    Mortonm's 2001 Xterra Build

Stopped by the junkyard on the way home today. They didn't have a chance to pull the truck out of the line to take the wheels off. This is a new you pick yard and is setup in an old farmers field, which means mud. Last few days have been unseasonally wamr so when I showed up today I knew it...

    Pizza cutters

Unfortunately your options are pretty limited without getting swampers of some kind. A few companies make a 285 75 R 18 which is 34.8 x 11.2

The real advantage is when you are stuck in mud/snow the auto locking hubs disengage/reengage every time you go back and forward if you are rocking, which means your rear tires are spinning while your fronts are trying to figure out what is going on. the auto hubs are expensive to replace at...

    Mortonm's 2001 Xterra Build

thank you, doesnt sound too hard as long as it isnt too rusted, but I figure I can give it a shot, if not then I will come back at a later date. This is at a u-pick yard in the country on the way to my work site, so I thought I would stop in. I will be driving back by on Thursday afternoon...

    Mortonm's 2001 Xterra Build

Can anyone give me a quick tutorial on how to remove the auto locking hubs? And what tools I need? I found a pair at a junk yard for 10$ each, don't know if they work but fo that price its worth a shot. They also had my exact alloy wheel in good shape, 25$ so I grabbed one. I will now have...

    Thoughts on 08+ Titan Pro-4x

sounds like a good plan, the "extreme" sizes give you a little deeper tread and slightly larger voids

ExPo's opinion? new Xterra or CC Frontier.

The feeling will pass. I had a 2007 GTI so I know exactly how you feel. Good luck with the new truck!

Lockers are nice but most of us don't have them and we do okay. Congrats on the new truck!

ExPo's opinion? new Xterra or CC Frontier.

Basically comes down to whether you want a truck or an SUV. Mechanically easentially identical, if you think the open bed will benefit then go frontier, or if you think you would like an enclosed vehicle I'd go Xterra. Frontier with a long bed and topper will net you more storage, and I think...
