Adventure Tool Company's (ATC) 4wd Provan Tiger adventures

Paul, that was so cool and nice of you to do that. Back in late 90's we lived in North Georgia not far for terminus of AT. When our first was toddler we used to go to parking pull-off where AT crossed road and be trail angels for people coming off the mountain. Although we weren't hiking it was...

Sweet Deal - 2006 Tiger Adventure Vehicles Class C RV CX

FWIW, even at $50k there is a lot of room for repairs/upgrades before its not a good deal. You bought well.....fix it and enjoy it, an extra $3000-$5000 is no big deal at all. Like you I bought my 2001 Chinook site unseen and drove home without thorough inspection, I did have a bunch of smaller...

Virginia to Montana (FWC) to Wyoming (YNP) to Michigan (AEV)

Ramblinchet....great blog and pictures of trip. I am in Richmond and looking to retire within 2 years. I have been fretting about drives out west since it takes 27 hours to get to Salida CO itself. However, your thread has given me renewed enthusiasm to slow down - smell the roses - and take...

Need Your Help: Seeking a Specific type of 4x4 Class C?

FWIW, 4x4 Chinook Concourses were built on E-450 chasis, these are van not truck chasis but may give you what you want for much lesser money...for even less you can covert 2WD Chinook's built on E-350 chasis to 4wd. Both options should be in 50k range.

Update on Concourse (and Shameful plug)

My Chinook Concourse has been great for intended uses but I realized i didn't really show too many pics so here are a few below (shameful plug is I need a link to pictures to get considered in the Overland Expo East Showcase area so hopefully this suffices:)) This was weekend camping trip...

    2021 Earthoamer - 1900 miles - $750,000

I could be wrong, but I gotta imagine the person who can truly afford this already has the vacation home amongst other expensive toys.

Adventure Tool Company's (ATC) 4wd Provan Tiger adventures

That's very cool, I bet families didn't have spares or extras around, or a Walmart 15 minutes away, so breaking a pot had to be a big deal and must have been devastating for that kid to tell mom (back then I bet kids were very respectful...unlike today). If needed to replace ASAP I wonder if...

Chinook on CL near me- not mine but looks legit

You are exactly correct, 3 years ago I paid 21k for mine with I think 70k miles from older couple that used it very lightly, most going in mid-20's, rarely did they go for over 30k. jadmt is correct, due to age it will be wise to change some wear items, reseal roof, check tires, I think stock...

Chinook on CL near me- not mine but looks legit

Looks really nice, has the lounge layout which I love in mine. The swivel rocking chairs are insanely comfortable, put your feet on couch and slip into sweet dreams. 41k seems high but in this market someone will pay.

Grand Cherokee WK2 Off-Road Capability and Reliability

FYI, in my 2014 WK2 lifter and cam (non-stop ticking) going after 230,000 miles, since I have factory lifetime warranty they are fixing under warranty for $100 deductible with no hesitation. This would be $2,000+ repair. Love my wk2 but lifetime warranty has saved me a small fortune.

    SOLD: 2019 EarthCruiser FX

How is EC on long highway trips? I think you drove out to VA late last year and now back west? Living in VA we are spend alot of time on highways getting to areas of interest? On highway what is cruising speed, and how is passing, or lack thereof, power? Thanks

Check your tires regardless of age and mileage

Very good reminder, two weeks ago I checked my tires dates on my 68 camaro, tires looked new, always kept clean, shined and care is garage kept and rarely driven anymore, the tires looked new, but I was shocked to see the tires were dated 1999., I think I put them on in 2001...yikes. I...

Grand Cherokee WK2 Off-Road Capability and Reliability

Since this thread has been revised let me just say my 2014 WK2 Overland edition daily driver just passed 229,000 miles and tomorrow I will take it on 900 mile roundtrip excursion. Whether on road, dirt, yucky stuff or snow these things simply perform and drive so comfortably.

    Pass-through really necessary?

I love my pass-through, so handy in so many instances. I would not own vehicle without it now that I experienced it.

    Calling all 7.3L E350 Owners!!

I have a 2001 V10 with close to 10k pound rig. 6 - 8 hours at 65 - 70 mph is nothing for me to drive at a time, mostly highways. The V10 gives me plenty of speed and get-up-and-go to pass trucks. I do live on east coast so don't deal with those steeper ascents out west but it's crazy how strong...

    Price range on a 4x4 Conversion for a 96 E350?

My rig is 21' long and 9'5 high. I live on east coast so I limit my off road to FS/dirt roads and the like. The Chinook is very agile for it's size but biggest issue is simply it size, more so height than width, length not a problem. and clearance issues were fixed with lift etc. In the east...
