That’s what I got couple of weeks ago. Reviews suggest lack of quality control but my unit has been decent, for the price.

It's interesting to see what the "solar generators" provide in this regard.
- Goal zero yeti - anderson power pole and 8mm barrel (see here, under specs: https://www.goalzero.com/shop/archive/goal-zero-yeti-1250-portable-power-station/)
- Inergy 1500 - EC8 - some sort of bananna plug...
I’m in Vancouver, BC. Cross border shipping is a pain but do appreciate the offer. Plus I want to learn how to do it.

Thanks gents this is a useful discussion. I read that XT-60 have a 1000 cycle life, but Anderson doesn't seem to have much more at 1500 so I dont think that's a serious consideration.
I found a male flushmount XT60. No dust cover and @DaveInDenver point about the contacts being exposed is very...
Hello everyone,
Building a LiFePO4 battery box. The box will be self contained and move between various vehicles. I anticipate having the following external connections:
- USB/12v cigarette (these are easy enough)
- Solar In (to a solar charger that lives inside the box)
- Mains in (to charge...
Well, maybe they designed it for a short awning (~25lb) vs a 270 degrees that's almost 75lb ?♂️. In any case, I dont want a replacement, I'd rather go with Kraxler's design.
Dang looks like a fun trip. Will be sad to see you go with all your fine mods and knowledge! Good luck with the sale.
Looks like the weld failed to me. See the second picture I posted above, with the awning hanging down. The awning was mounted using smittybilt brackets:
Here’s a tighter crop from above image

Costco special, a Unique Portables fridge.
It fits nearly perfect into the slide with the plastic feet off. I’m considering cutting the back off the drawer with an angle grinder. Thoughts?

I have experience with such a bag — it’s made of heavy duty vinyl. Very tough so bugs are no issue. Convenient because you can roll it up for storage. Unfortunately while advertised as waterproof — it wasn’t. Also was really rigid and hard to deal with in sub zero weather. Overall the concept is...
In all the RVs I've seen peviously (trailers, tent trailers, etc) electrical lives right next to the pump, due to space constraints. I think you'll be fine ?♂️.
Did you build a custom swing out or use a smittybilt jeep swingout like Ebrabaek?
That's really neat. I love the drone shots, what a great practical way to show the beam reach! Well done.
One way to determine light output is with various light meters, another option is to compare power consumption against spec. I found when buying cheap chinese lights of amazon, a lot of...
Found your solutio (here: Nov 24, 2019 ). Did you have to adjust the length of the tension poles? It looks like your tent may be in line with the awning, my awning is offset a bit higher. Thanks for the ideas.
Inaugural trip with the smittybilt, outside of whistler BC. The trailer, tent and awning performed flawlessly. I'd like to add a house battery and a water trank. Under investigation.
I've yet to figure out how to attach the awning cleanly. I'd like to bring the awning closer to the body...
Thanks for that! (For future readers: here's the link Apr 5, 2020). That looks like a much better option. I'm not able to weld but I can certainly find someone to do it for me. Does this spacing leave enough room for the rtt?
Installed the ovs Nordic 4 tent as well the 270 awning. Really blown away by the awning it’s so quick to setup and put away and the quality is excellent. I’ve gotta redo the awning mount it doesn’t look that great to me.

Good to know. How are they attached to the bottom of the tent? I figure I’ll contact ovs to see if they can sell me more of these rails.

I spent a couple of hours trying to install toungue reinforcements. It looks like I didn't have enough load washer sent:
The other thing is my new tent (OVS Nomadic 4) trying to figure out if I need to add aditional bracing for the overhangs.
