Ahh, thanks for sharing this! I was just looking at Midland's new MXT275 GMRS mobile and love the form factor of a hidden transceiver and controls on the mic, didn't realize anyone made a CB like this. Thanks!
Good luck dude, it's a cool idea but illegal to amplify and very unlikely to achieve 10 miles NLOS in a mobile environment. Definitely interested in hearing your results as testing progresses though, seems like a pretty neat device/concept and the price is right.
[edit] I should clarify, while...
Maybe you could buy some fine mesh screen by the roll and stitch a strip of velcro to the top like the isothermic kit? Not ideal, but simple enough to make at least. I guess attaching outside would be better...
The RadioReference FRS/GMRS combined chart reflects the new changes and summarizes pretty well:

I haven't found a good solution to this, I travel full-time so I never have any repeaters programmed into memory. I just use the Repeater Book app to look for repeaters within 30-50 miles (2M/70CM) depending on terrain, sometimes there are good details about elevation that can give you a good...
The blade is just pressed onto the shaft, easily tweaked or removed. Maybe pull it off and see if the noise is coming from the blade rubbing or from the motor itself?
There is a James Baroud Owners group on Facebook, someone recently posted about replacing or resealing the fan.
Mine is quiet and no problems so far, I've left it on and packed away the tent without noticing several times now and still no issues.
The two are not separate, the deluxe just has full double layer walls, one screen and the other weatherproof. You can roll up the weather proof layer to create a full screenroom, or just partial depending on which side you want covered/open. Each side perprindicular to the truck is just dual...
Am I understanding this correctly? You tested with a multimeter directly at the new 12v outlet inside the cab and it shows 12V+? Are you measuring both hot and ground from the outlet itself? A successful test there rules out anything upstream in the circuit, including failed connections, fuses...
Haha, I considered building a wood ramp to go over the ladder too, I just got the tent and she's only been up a few times so we'll see how it goes. The tailgate is much easier because I can transition her from ground to tailgate, and then from tailgate to tent in stages. My tent is mounted at...
I can manage to get my 60lb pit up the ladder under my armpit, I climb a few rungs until she can reach for the entry but she's pretty comfortable with me handling her this way. I recently discovered that loading her in from the rear door of my JB while standing on my tailgate works much better...
I just installed a 2500 and the deluxe room, it's really well thought out, flexible, and seems very nice but it packs down huge! I'm not sure whether it's going to make the cut because it takes up so much space and will be used so rarely (I think).
I did wonder if you had written your post exactly as is, but substituted the Smittybilt name in place of Tepui if the responses would have been any different. :)
Haha yeah I knew why as soon as I double checked their site before posting.
Really, even at 64" wide they totally umbrella a full size truck, looks a little weird I think, I guess it works better on the slab side vehicles.
Good point on sitting up, the Evasion XXL will have more headroom than the GR on one end at least because of the storage area on the top. I am 6'4" and can sit up comfortably and move around easily in my Explorer, they're about 42" high interior.
