How do you keep all those loose items sorted?

Well, they will do that with or without seat pockets - they'll put that crap anywhere. Know what I mean? You don't mean to suggest to not use these things because someone might insert some trash?

How do you cook in camp?

I could have sworn, KC, that your favorite method of getting dinner at camp was mooching.

Go vertical. Get close. Don't point it straight (parallel with the ground). The cover shot on Overland Journal Fall '07 is a great example of a wide angle shot with the foreground being very close to the camera (although it's horizontal). The camera is practically pointed downward...

How do you keep all those loose items sorted?

I'm dying to try one of those smittybilt GEAR seat covers. As seen in Overland Journal Winter 07 :) :

How do you cook in camp?

Mark and I agree on finding ways to conserve the water by using teflon, stainless, and titanium products. But I also agree with that Aussie fella about good food. If I'm grilling or frying, I like to put down foil first. Most of the mess will get contained to that - just toss it in the...

We share just about the same impressions. Greg, are you sure about that sun roof bit, though? We have a sun roof with no rack and were assured by the sales guy that we couldn't have both rack and sun roof. Maybe things have changed since 2005. Visibility, yes, is decent. My brother has an...

Ah! Que bueno mis amigos! Drooling, but ever so happy to see someone enjoyed the Cortez coast. Sorry I had to pass this one up, Chuck.

On the consumer end of things, the rear seat in the Crew Cab is inferior to that in the double cab Tacoma. Dash and trim work is mostly thin plastic, but that's the case in most vehicles today. Yeah, fuel mileage...eh. We're pretty heavy and average in the 16 mpg on the highway according to...

Searching for Airbag setup suitable with flipped u bolt setup

Yes, they're the Firestone "ride rite" jobbies. Both sides are plumbed together with a T fitting to one valve, actually. What's the purpose of flipping your u-bolts?

They'll rust; they're just not made for exposure to the elements on a constant basis. And I've stripped bolts on several drum clamps and cymbal stands over the years during tear-down and set-up. The rock-n-roll life might be a rough one, but it's no Baja road :)

Searching for Airbag setup suitable with flipped u bolt setup

You might be able to shim the lower bracket in a fashion to clear the u-bolts sticking up and accommodate your lift at the same time. This is not on a Toyota, but this shows the concept: Cheers, Mark

    Sleeping Platform Building Material

Ah, you're right Dale. MDO. My apologies. Today's OSB, though, does have a pretty resilient adhesive holding it together, but it wouldn't last that long. I was thinking MDO, not OSB, when I typed up that response. Sorry for the confusion. What ever wood product is used for an exterior...

    Water Tanks

Not a trailer, but the same concept. I, too, was concerned about the weight as this sucker is 14 gallons. Full weight makes it worth 112 lbs. It's held in place by two steel brackets and four bolts, and the skid plate is bolted to the brackets. Though it's been mounted there for over a year...

Chris, you kill me with your indecision. :) You'll probably walk away from all this with a 100-400mm just to make us laugh. So here I go: the 10-22 is nearly a whole new ballgame, but I love wide. Wide wide. Really wide. One of my next lenses shall be a fisheye. I think you'll have fun...
