You could try it on a section of your tent that does not see much action and see if it works....
I have used it on tents (as stated) and on the actual cover for the tent... it held up for over two years with no issues...
I have used Seam Sealer "seam-grip" and "sil-net" on my 4 season tents.. they work great...
for as mall whole like that I dont think a patch would be needed....
