    Ramcharger, Bronco or K5?

Just throwing this out there. Based on what I am reading, you want a tough, easy to work on, very good aftermarket support rig with a removable top. Why are you not looking at a Chevy Blazer of that era? You cannot get more aftermarket support then for a Chevy. Engine stuff, suspension, body...

    Lifted 2wd Vans

That would definitely be the way I would go. This way you always have the option to go 4WD without having to undo/redo anything. About the only way I would say go with a 2WD lift is if you want to go fast/pre-runner type rig but I really don't see that being how a van is getting used. Truck...

    1 ton man fort

Man, this thing is looking good. Wish I had the time to have done a conversion like this to my M1010 project but I decided I wanted to camp and not build so bought the Ram and Four Wheel Camper. Now if I can get someone to buy the M1010. :) Keep up the great work.

    Need a torque wrench...

Verified, 2000 XJ FSM, hub bearing bolts, 75 ft-lbs. Axle nut, 175 ft-lbs. Glad we checked this or you would have been posting up, "how in the heck do I remove broken hub bearing bolts?" LOL :D

    Need a torque wrench...

Agree, I don't think the bearing bolts are 175 ft-lbs. 75 does sound right. I can look it up in my factory Mopar manual if you like. I wouldn't trust a Hynes or Chiltons manual.

    Need a torque wrench...

That is called a beam torque wrench. Still available and many old school guys still like them. Biggest reason I have seen them not getting used much is the require more space to use and you have to be able to see the numbers. Nice thing is there is basically no moving parts so nothing to get...

    Need a torque wrench...

I would find out what the range of the 1/2" on is. It could be a lower range model and won't go up to the spec you need it. I have bought some used Snap-On tools (actually my favorite 1/2 ratchet was used). Torque wrenches can be hit and miss depending on how they were treated. Sounds like...

    Need a torque wrench...

Not to say they are the best but I have had good luck with my two Craftsman torque wrenches. It's a little over your $100 mark but for one that will do 175 ft-lbs, I doubt you'll find anything much cheaper that is decent...

    '97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 Cummins Powered

Well, got out for our first shakedown run. My parents joined us towing our Kamparoo as they are looking to buy that from us. Overall it went well as we got familiar with the new rig. We did about 210 miles round trip, about 40 of that offroad. Returned 14.1 MPG, which considering all the...

2002 Dodge Ram 2500 -buying tips?

If the spacer was added but not realigned, it would cause the wear. Typically it's the toe that gets out of spec. Spacer for leveling is very common. Heck in the Jeep world it's typically how you do a ~2" lift for most models. Sorry no help on the tow package specs. If you want to upgrade...

    Australian Window Visors?

Man those bring back memories. They were really BIG back in the hey day of the mini truck scene in the '80's. Had a set on my D50 mini truck and you almost couldn't find a Toyota that didn't have them. Seems today the small, mini versions are much more common.

DOG ramp, access, ladder, lift, up?

Looking at the last pic, I would have looked at designing the back to allow a ramp to be mounted across the inside of the tailgate. Drop the tailgate, deploy the ramp and done. First thing out, last thing in. If you needed a longer ramp, make it a folding one and double your length. Would...

2002 Dodge Ram 2500 -buying tips?

Ah! I see 5.9 and automatically think diesel. LOL My dad has the 5.9 (360) in his '97 Dakota and has been worry free since day one. They are faily bulletproof. Bummer you missed out on your dad's '99.

2002 Dodge Ram 2500 -buying tips?

I'm still a newbie with Dodge diesels but have been learning quickly. Picked up a '97 2500 4x4 Cummins. I know the lift pump setup is the biggest issue on '98-'02 Cummins. If the fuel pressure drops too low it will take out the injector pump = $$$. It seems to be very common to install an...
