Just a follow-up if anyone else needs help with this. I thought I had the problem fixed but it came back so decided to replace the whole vsv. I used this one Conpus MB620532,MR430381,K5T47776,K5T81794 Vacuum Switch Solenoid Valve For Mitsubishi Pajero 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 Mitsubishi...
Totally did this fix this morning and the noise hasn't come back. Mine still takes a pretty long time to disengage 4wd but at least the noise is gone. Pretty stoked I thought is was spend big money on a new t-case.
I'm having this same problem Everytime I drive it. I can make it stop by going into 4hi. It's been driving me nuts. I'll give this shot tomorrow. Thanks for posting the fix
Hi all
I have been having a problem that is driving me crazy. When driving down the road usally when I'm coasting or just light on the gas I get a grinding noise. The noise will get louder the faster I go and if I come to stop it will grind real slow then a big clunk and all is fine. I found I...
I would check to see if you have a brake dragging. I just went through this ( it's a long story) any way I would check because it could explain your gas mileage and you traction control light. Now that mine is fixed right it like a new truck .
I have a 2003 I bought it a year ago with pretty good maintenance records with 140,000 miles on it for $6000. I also owed a 97 lc. I love my gen lll it's been pretty low maintenance so far and runs like a champ. I think it would be a fine college car but a Forester would get better gas mileage.
Sorry. I tried to delete this thread but it wouldn't let me for some reason. Anyway I fixed my problem. Turns out some times you just need to get frustrated and tear your whole dash apart and the climate control and lo and behold you find a ton of dust covering up a important Mercury...
I have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out why my climate control has gone crazy. I made another post about but the long and short is when the car sits in the sun on warm day when I get in it the outside temp is in -40 range so my truck think it's freezing out and turn my heat on even...
I'm dealing with the same thing. I bought the truck with a set of pretty new at3s on it. It still has it original shocks and the tires are cupped so it makes a crap load of noise for set of tires with about 10,000 miles. Anyway new shocks and some new tires and I hope it will be better.
265/70/16 Cooper at3 on stock rig. The tires were on the truck when I bought it the rears had about 9000 miles on them and front were almost new. The truck seemed loud in the rear. I had the tires rotated and now they seem loud in the front the older tires just seem loud compared to the new...
I bought my 2003 with a really good history and 136,000 miles on it for $6000. I feel we both got a fare deal. I also recently sold my gen one that I did a ton work on for $500. It did have blown head gasket but still it was a pain to get rid of. What I'm saying is that not alot of people are...
Well I finally did the passenger side cam seal today. The seal was under $5.00 at the dealer and took me all of 15min and most of that was looking for 12mm socket. It's sooooo nice to not smell burning oil.
I built a really cool rack for my gen 1 I could strap 4x8 sheets of plywood to it as it was awesome. The gen 1 blew a head gasket so I bought a gen 3 and my rack would work using the roof rails and so Thule mounts but it would sit so high off the top of the car.
I have been smelling burning oil and through my research I'm thinking the rear cam seal but can't find if it really is a problem with the 3.8 second question is in reality how hard is it for someone who has some mechanical ability.
