This build was a big inspiration in our buying a used Aliner. Looking forward to reinforcing the frame and putting taller tires and suspension under it. Thanks for posting Runt!
Oh and yes it does have a torsion axle, great ground clearance as is. What I really want is more suspension travel and/or shock absorption. I'm not sure how much can be gained with a different axle. Taller tires with more sidewall would help. How are all these expo trailer guys mounting...
Mine still has the rear stabilizers in place. They aren't designed to lift or level the camper, and I wish they were. All they're good for is stabilizing. It has a steel tube rear bumper that I could mount legitimate jacks to. I'm trying to spend as little as possible on upgrades until I've...
Its got a plastic shield that's holding up alright so far. I don't have any mud flaps on the truck, so that would be a good place to start.
Spent two more nights in the trailer this weekend. Need to decide what route to take on batteries and get going. Had to pull a trolling motor...
Are you talking about the front? I could probably use some protection from the rear tires of the Tundra.
The angle of the hitch could cause a lot of undue stress on a Corvette if the trailer gets too tall.

That, and without the off-road package, they weren't hardly tall enough to get in and out of a paved driveway. So, I think we did pretty well, too.

Yes, only one bed but it is the same size as we have at home. Paid $4500 for it by the way. Not sure if that was a fair price because there are so few used models out there but we're happy. There is another layout with a couch up front, less storage and a smaller fold down dinette. I'm glad...
I've been surprised at how few of them there are on here. They aren't very plentiful on the used market and I think there is a common misconception that there isn't enough headroom, but there's plenty. You only have cause for standing in the center, near the front there are cabinets and in the...
Pulled the trigger on this little pop up 2 weeks ago. We've spent 4 nights in it since then and we love it. It's tall enough to be usable the way it is, but I plan to reinforce the frame and stuff more suspension and matching tires (285/75-16) under it someday.
Pros:
Lightweight
No cloth...
Use BIG wires in the shortest run possible from the panel to the controller, and short wires from the controller to the battery. Crank the volts up on the controller so that you're getting 14.8 to the battery so that the battery can get fully charged and not just 80%. Then use the electricity...
Mine is a 1998, the frame is a little too light. I plan to reinforce it and lift it up high enough to install 30-31" tires. I think It would be overkill with the same size tires as my Tundra, 33" MTRs
Just bought one, 4 nights so far and love it. I love being able to sleep in all hungover as the sun comes out and not get roasted out like I did in a tent. Also to be able to heat it at night quickly and efficiently. So I guess I disagree with the above post, and that was without any shade...
