Just got my 16" Partner Steel stove today - just the right size for me and it will fit in my wolf type ammo box with enough room left over for all of the pots and pans I need and a couple of 1 lb propane bottles.
I've had four different Eureka tents and would say they are some of the best tents I've ever used - easy to erect, sturdy and durable.
My first Eureka tent was an eight man canvas Draw-Tite - it was big enough to park a small car in and packed down to the size of a US Army duffel bag - about 40...
OK Bill -you've thrown down the gauntlet - it's time for a report that will make yours seem tame by comparison. Instead of one border crossing - how about eight? The only question will be which one of my four Land Rovers will the tires go on.
Round 4 - stay tuned...
Thanks for the pics - that really helps a lot. A friend of mine has a 22" PS stove and I know it's bigger than I want - great stove though.
I have an 8" frying pan and a 6" diameter cook pot that I typically use on a solo camping trip. If my wife is along I bring a 10" pan so it looks like the...
Could you post a picture with a small frying pan (maybe 8-10") and a small backpacking type 1qt pot side by side on the stove? I'm trying to see if the 18" stove is spacious enough to hold the pots I like to use.
I've got to be able to cook a nice New York Strip and a pot of rice and I think the...
I've spent about 60 nights in my Maggiolina roof tent and its been some of the best camping I've ever done. The only downside is the middle of the night pee breaks that us older guys find necessary.
A friend of mine slept in my roof tent last year (I was in my travel trailer) and he said it was...
I'd look at one of the military surplus tents - a friend of mine has one that's about 15 x 20. It looks durable enough especially if you built a wooden platform to erect it on.
How are the two burners connected to each other and the gas connection? None of he pictures show that detail and for that kind of money I'd really be concerned about long time durability.
I was thinking about a partner steel stove to replace my old dual fuel Coleman but I like the size of this...
I've had great luck with my Bosch tools - corded and cordless. Bosch jigsaws, reciprocating saws, routers and cordless drills are the bomb. I've cut 1/4 steel plate with my Bosch jigsaw.
My first Makita cordless drill lasted over 12 years - the second died after two years. My Makita 7" circular...
One of the reasons to travel for me is to take photographs - and invariably I always regret not taking more.
I've been shooting Canon cameras since the about 1977 (with occasional forays into Rolleis, Hasselblads and Speed Graphics back in the film days) and I bought my first Canon F-1 in 1980...
The new MSR Guardian is pricey but looks like a great unit. If you've ever gotten sick from contaminated water I guarantee this would seem like a bargain.
