Dakotas: 1st Gen vs. 2nd Gen?

I owned a 2002 quad cab with the 4.7 V8 and my dad has a '97 club cab with 5.9 V8. If you have 3 people, you will want the quad cab as it has real back seats and having full size doors is great. I have ridden in the back of my dad's club cab and let me tell you, there is no real room for an...

    Callen Campers still in business?

It's always sad to see a company, that was built up with an original founder/owner, to completely go downhill when someone else takes over for whatever reason (death, buyout, etc.). I have seen it so many times through out the years. :(

    Doc's AT FlipPac Build Thread

Cool thing, if the bolts are not long enough, they are just standard flat head machine bolts. A good hardware store would have longer ones. :ylsmoke:

Don't know but I do think they are the same style as I have seen with some of the utility tracks. Likely one company makes most of the different brand ones out there. They got your name on them. :D

    Doc's AT FlipPac Build Thread

Not sure what/where you want to put eye bolts on the back but here is an idea that allows you to remove the eyelet and just leave a nice, clean "bump" mount. Then clip in the eyelet when you need it. BTW, if you're interested in these, I happen to have a new pair that I would be willing to...

    good camper heater

Something you didn't mention is what fuel type is the rig using? If diesel, there are diesel versions like the Heat Source one. About the same price range but if your rig is using diesel, you have an instant fuel source that would be easily refueled. Just another idea.

My Ridiculous Vehicular A.D.D. Thread... With Pics!

Yes, it's a desease!!! So far I have owned 42 cars/trucks (currently 7 in the fleet) 15 cycles/ATV's and 3 trailers. That's in 26 years of driving. Biggest year was 6 or 7 back when I started the year with 3 cars and ended with 4, none of which were the first 3.

    good camper heater

Adventure Trailers is selling what is likely one of the best heating systems out there. The are huge in Europe and in the boating community. Not cheap but you will do it only once and be done with it. Has a t-stat, low consumption, etc. http://www.adventuretrailers.com/page/accessories/heater/

Cherokee fridge, stove, storage pull out.

Very nice!!! Love the quality workmanship and that has to be one of the best layouts/use of space in an XJ I have seen. Very well done.

    1985 Ford van cowboy4x4

First thought would be the engine in the van is offset to the pass. side. Not sure if the Excursion has the engine centered or offset. Also being set back further than a van, that could create issue. Will be interesting to see what you come up with. Good luck with the project.

New Build; 1984 Chevy CUCV M1010 4x4 Ambulance

Thanks for the offer on the TM's. I actually got them from Steel Soldiers site. I am tackling one system at a time so electrical is next. There has been a little modification done but overall not too hacked... from what I can tell so far. I think a lot of dirty connections that need to be...

New Build; 1984 Chevy CUCV M1010 4x4 Ambulance

Currently it still the 24/12 volt system with the DUVAC that seems to be working. I need to dig into the electrical system and do some cleaning of connections and make sure everything is good. The last couple days have been fixing some issues. Had to swap the door locks as one was "punched...

New Build; 1984 Chevy CUCV M1010 4x4 Ambulance

I have been bouncing ideas around and haven't settled on anything. Need to get a tape measure out and do some layouts. Box is about 65" so not quite tall enough to stand. Been thinking of either extending the roof up (in the middle standing area, not the whole roof) or a pop up. We'll see...

New Build; 1984 Chevy CUCV M1010 4x4 Ambulance

hahaha, that's too funny. You and your rig on our last trip is what really got me seriously wanting a self contained rig versus towing a trailer. Not that I have any issues with that and as you have seen, it sure hasn't limited me. Now I want to have a rig that will go most any place we want...

New Build; 1984 Chevy CUCV M1010 4x4 Ambulance

hahaha Brian, figured I would get a comment. LOL Plans are to keep the Cherokee and eventually sell the Kamparoo, to which my dad is very happy, as he wants it. :) Joe, thanks for the link. That is who I have been looking at, since they seem to be the "one" for this era Chevy's.

Well, after a long wait, it finally sits in my driveway. Just need to finish up DMV stuff to officially say it's mine. Should hopefully have that done tomorrow. Sorry no pics as it was raining when dropped off and dark when I got back from round 1 of DMV. Pics will come. <insert happy dance>
