DPG OME Deluxe vs Ultimate for XJ

If he is only looking to run 30-31" tire, long arms are a big waste of money and way overkill for an ~2-3" lift. Heck, most companies don't recommend their long arm kits for anything under 4". To the OP, shock choice would be 1st, Bilstein, 2nd OME. I run Bilstein's in everything but I have...

VIAIR Onboard Air System GROUP BUY

Can this be bought with a smaller tank? The location I am thinking about won't have a lot of space and I think the 1 gallon tank would work better for me. I am also only filling 31" tires. PM me if you can do a smaller tank and pricing shipped to 92126 area.

Hummm.... that might be the line I'll go with. Seems like the best of both worlds.

    Larger tank for the XJ?

Who cares???... those of us in CA and have to pass our bi-anual smog check, which includes a visual inspection and testing of evap systems now. For me, basically any mods I do (relating to engine) need to be smog legal or it won't be done. Already a PITA to deal with the smog nazi's, don't...

    Trailer hitch fit question

My thoughts exactly. I have seen that mistake made more than once. To my knowledge, all XJ hitches fit all years. ZJ ones won't fit, just like their gas tank skid plate won't fit a XJ.

Are there any trailer tent manufacturers in the US?

Looking at the picture posted, that is not a RTT like in your link. From what I can see in the picture, it is a clamshell design with a add-a-room on the side, just like I can do with our Kamparoo (if I bought the AAR). In the pic, I can see the forward wall of the trailer box (behind the...

    Need to get active-er.

Hey Brian, funny you brought this up. Three weeks ago I joined a local gym after talking about it for the last six months. It has been helping but the biggest thing that has helped the most is a change in my diet. Portion control and watching what I eat has been the biggest impact. I drink...

Are there any trailer tent manufacturers in the US?

http://www.kamparoo.com They are in Canada but ship to the US. We had great experience working with Glen and no problems getting things taken care of regarding registration. Glen supplies all the paperwork needed.

    Fire Pans, NO MORE RINGS!

Since I do use areas that require fire pans, I found a nice, compact and fairly light solution for us. It's made by Coleman and packs into a nice case this as big as the stainless steel part you see in the picture. Works great and happy it was a solution that worked for us. Approx. $90

    CB Radio Choice

You may get a lot of different recommenations on antenna's but in my research I have never heard anyone complain about a Wilson 1000. I have had Firestick's in the past with decent sucsess but nothing as good as my Wilson. Proper placement and tuning are more a factor than the actual antenna...

    CB Radio Choice

I have the Cobra one and it works great, especially like the Weather stations. The biggest thing about any CB is the antenna and getting it tuned. I have seen the Cobra and even very high end CB radios that work like crap because the antenna was not correctly setup, yet seen the cheapest radio...

    Slight issue after lift...

I think the rear shaft issue you are thinking you are going to have is really no an issue. My buddy (who got me into XJ's) ran an SYE with a front drive shaft for the rear, with his D35 for 10 years. Last year he swapped in a 8.25 as the case had finally spread open enough to start causing...

    Slight issue after lift...

Honestly, Cherokee's have enough issues with engine mounts tearing and failing, I would never want to risk adding any stress (however slight) to a known problem. Heck, I have a set of MORE Bomb Proof mounts at home awaiting to go in, just so I won't have a problem down the road. As much as you...

    Slight issue after lift...

Man I am seriously not a fan of t-case drops. It puts major strain on the engine mounts (you are basically rotating the back of the engine down) and makes the clearance for the fan to fan shroud really close. T-case drops are a band-aid fix at best and have the ability to break many more...

    XJ Expedition Basics

O2 sensors typically fall under the emissions related items, which I believe under Federal law must last for 75,000 miles (CA I think it's 100,000). If you are changing O2 sensors sooner than 75,000 miles you are either throwing away money or you have another serious problem you need to fix...
