just found a 1998 one owner well maintained but it has 190,000 miles on it. if it was 80 series land cruiser i would do it in second but i don't know how long the monteros can go.
price reduced to $4000. since post i have put on new tie rods and ends, installed a pioneer bluetooth stereo, and installed new u joints up front. runs great just have my eyes on a montero
15 mpg fully loaded with 35s still isn't bad with an 80 you would be looking at 10 mpg. Are you running stock gearing? I don't plan on 35 s even on my 80 I'm running 255/ 85 /16 and they are all I need.
Also @ 4d55 my wife and I just went on a huge California adventure in her 09 jetta tdi wagon and i totally agree it's a great expo vehicle! the 39 mpg and power in the mountains is amazing. It's a incredible vehicle no doubt
I'm selling my 80 seeks land cruiser and looking at Montero. I have done a tone of reading here and have convinced my self 1999 is the year that seems the best. I say this because it comes with a rear locker and I hear the gas mileage is pretty good, plus its obd 2 and I kinda like being able to...
so im selling my 80 series land cruiser and i have set my eyes on a montero, i love the look and from all the reading i have done it sounds like they are pretty tough and reliable. all the reading i have done kinda makes me think i want a 1999 with the rear locker and the sohc engine. now this...
I have made my decision. I have my 80 up for sale have my eyes on a 99 trooper with a 5 sp. I like my 80 but it seems to need constant maintenance I mean runs great but I just always feel I should be doing something to it. Anyway I had a Isuzu video and loved but the salt back in Michigan took...
so decided to keep the 80. selling an 80 from the midwest in the pacific northwest is not easy. so i'm going to keep and see if the rust kills it before the head gaskets gives up if not ill have to make a decision but for now its fine. thanks for all your help.
two places to check for rust would be the drivers side rocker panel in front of the rear tire and behind both of the rear tires. also look in the engine bay at the inner fender. my truck came from ohio and spent time in michigan and theses are the spots that are killing it. the rocker panel one...
i just saw an ad for 88 with 4 cylinder that didn't look beat to ******** with 200,000 on it. i'm tempted but you can get a lot of montero for the money.
i just saw a 1988 trooper out here wa. for $1700 it looked to be in great shape compared to the ones iv'e seen in the past, it got 200,000 but still might be fun. i need a vehical that i can throw two kayaks on and take out on some road trips. i need something that can get me through some rough...
