    Strapping down a kayak to a roof-rack

Heres's some more pieces from some kayak manufacturers and retailer websites that talk about tying down - if you look all the straps are close to the hull: http://palmequipmenteurope.com/blog/2015/07/31/how-to-transport-your-kayaks/...

    Strapping down a kayak to a roof-rack

Can you get it so that the front strap is around a point that is narrowing, and likewise the rear? If you can do that, then you'll stop most of the movement forwards and backwards. Alternatively, get the cockpit rim to sit behind the rails, so that works as a lip to stop it moving (but be...

    Mini Pajero Spotted

Here's wonkipedia on them all: Mitsubishi Pajero Mini Mitsubishi Pajero Junior Mitsubishi Pajero iO No wonder the 2nd tier Japanese manufacturers (MMC and Honda) have struggled over time... they make nearly as many versions of the same basic idea as GM and Chrysler did... at least they didn't...

    Mini Pajero Spotted

It's a Shogun Pinin or Pajero io (maybe they were Pajero Pinin as well) depending on market, also came as a 5 door.

    Strapping down a kayak to a roof-rack

Cam straps here as well - and then a couple of half hitches to lock off the strap once it's tight. Used them on trailers and roof racks (a lot). I have a mix of 3m and 5m straps, and they're all either 25mm or 50mm wide - the 50mm are used for my canoe as they are 5m long. I prefer cam straps...

    70 Series or Hilux

Bugger... HZJ75 it is, no HDJ until (well) after that cut off. Also, if the OP is looking at a cab chassis, then the other thing to be aware of is that they only had the small cab then, not the slightly larger cab of the 79 series (which did get the 1HD in later years - 2001 onwards) Perhaps...

    70 Series or Hilux

1HZ was a NA diesel, 1HDFTE is what you want if you wanted a turbo diesel (24 valve, factory turbo etc)

Hello from Europe! And why is USA so (UNINFORMED/UNDER-EQUIPPED)

I've been reading this with interest, and have finally decided to put size 13/14/48s in (depending on UK/USA/Europe...) Couple of things to think about in this conversation: Up to 3500kg is a car licence, over that is a truck licence. Now some people got that automatically, but after 1997 in...

    Exploring Australia From The Left

That was a blue tongue I suspect rather than a Goanna, and a bit of a cranky one as it's puffed up - the one we had stuck in a terracotta pipe did the same when I had to pick it out!

    Adventure Overland 2018 UK

I get back to that end of the UK in the 2nd half of October... and I think I'd have gotten crucified had we been back in September and I'd gone to it... First time back to the UK for 4 years...

1990 Daihatsu Rocky: Reddy the Rocky

In the UK the Rugger is a Fourtrak, and most are buggered now - but when they do come up for sale, they're for good money. Picking up again on the name changes, the Feroza was a Sportrak in the UK.

1990 Daihatsu Rocky: Reddy the Rocky

It's interesting that that is a Rocky in the USA - in Australia, it's one of these, where it comes as either a wagon or a ute. Found a couple of pictures from some for sale ads on Gumtree: They tend to come with a 2.8 diesel if they're diesel or a 2.0 petrol from Toyota.

    How important is GVWR?

Also applies when lifted over a certain height (both suspension and tyre changes) - in line with some of the comments elsewhere in the thread about tyre sizes and suspension changes - and also tyre and track width.

    Looking for a SWAG...

Kings gear is bought in and sold by the same company, and they direct sell (often pre-selling) rather than having any retailer stock their gear. I'd look at nearly anything other than Kings gear - whilst it's OK and cheap, I think there are nicer options for not a lot more from elsewhere.

    Exploring Australia From The Left

We have found memories of chasing what we thought were mice, but likely to be amorous Antechinus, around in our van. Wife who is short tempered with rodents/uninvited house guests threw things at it, and hit the laundry powder tub... I ended up with the dashboard in pieces...

Looking for some information and need some help from the Australian EXPO crowd.

I suspect it'll be angled back slightly, as it'll need that profile to comply with the Australian Design Rules (ADRs) that were in place when the vehicle was built. Post 2002, the front protection stuff must follow the line of the front of the vehicle, and there is a slight backwards slope on...

Changing trailer hubs to match tow vehicle wheels ? advise please.

Is that the world base Colorado? If so, it'll be the Japanese standard of 6 x 139.7mm that is on all Toyota, Nissans and Mazdas that run 6 stud wheels.
