Australian articulating ball couplers? (ARK, Al-Ko, etc.)

It's more the American one will be 50.8mm that's the problem.

Australian articulating ball couplers? (ARK, Al-Ko, etc.)

They're designed to run on a 50mm not a 2" ball, so you'll need to get an Aussie ball as well. Alternatively, the VC and McHitch options avoid that.

    Range Rover Series I

Here's an example of a usable RRC in Australia or this one is a bit newer. If that's out of budget, here's some project ones. As far as I know this one is not able to be imported (not original engine), but a lot in Aus have had engine swaps over the years. Hope that helps, I don't think there...

    Aluminum flat bed options?

Have a search using "tray back campers" and that'll bring up the Australian versions, where trays are much more common. Whilst costs may become prohibitive, the ideas may be of use. Hope that helps a bit, Ed

    Classic SUVs?

My best grades were in the term that I: -Went back to the UK for 4 weeks to get married -Worked the most hours outside university -Took 6 months to repair the head gaskets on the 4Runner A couple of people told me "if you want something doing properly ask a busy person"

Looking For A Very Long RTT

I've got a mate and his fiance who are both over 6' tall, and I'm 6'4 so similar problems... Have a look at the Gordigear range - their RTT are 230cm long mattress so that might be enough? Quick sums says that there's 22cm left on the mattress, so that might be enough to bring you away from the...

    Importing Cruisers

You do know that only the UK, Ireland, Cyprus and Malta are RHD in Europe; South Africa, Australia and New Zealand are also RHD.

Do Australian ARB Parts fit US Vehicles?

Japanese market vehicles may well be a bit narrower to meet taxation classes; however, I suspect that's most likely to be in the removal of external trim pieces such as wheel arch flares. Rare cases they do a much narrower body (Toyota Camry's and Honda Accords are both examples of this) but on...

How to make a cheap isolated dual-battery setup for $50

So after reading many different forums, thoughts and ideas I did something like the $50 set up... but kind of blew the budget... I knew what I wanted to achieve, which was a non-permanent set up that is movable between the car and the camper trailer, with a solar input for when it's in the...

Best offroad trailer for a large family?

MDC have a bit of a hit and miss reputation - they've upped their game, but I think they (and one other company) had a lot of Australian forums banned from discussing their products. For other good quality caravans check out: -Kedron -Bushranger for some ideas - a fair few of those are used as...

    1991 Land Rover Santana 109

You're unlikely to find a 109 with a crew cab; the utes were all single cabs with the tub body (ie the same as a hardtop, just with the bulkhead and short cab) or a cab chassis. IIRC the crew cab started with the 127" and then the 130", both with the high cap tray on the back, whereas the...

    Kayak strap noise question....

Don't use ratchet straps - too easy to crank them down super tight and leave a permanent dent in the hull (especially in hot weather). I much prefer camlock straps. For a single kayak I used to use 3m straps which were enough to reach over the kayak as you have now and then have a short tail...

Best offroad trailer for a large family?

A great solution I saw at work (I work at a Caravan park part time) was a Cub trailer with a metal frame above that allowed a RTT to be slid over the drawbar as the kid's bedroom, Mum and Dad then had the Cub as their bedroom. I unfortunately only got a picture when it was hitched up, but...

Need recommendation for camp kitchen utensil set

I have a set of children's Ikea kitchen utensils that I originally got for backpacking and canoe camping with; I can't find them on the Ikea website, but instead found this set, which sounds exactly like what you are looking for. Unfortunately it's on the UK one, but I suspect there will be a...

Modifying an Italian stove for US pressure

The UK run different pressures for butane and propane, and all you do is change the regulator for summer/winter gas use. I'd suspect that the regulator will sort it out enough.

So can you straight axle a 100 or 200 series?

I know that a SAS is possible on a 130 series 4Runner/Surf (2nd Gen) as they are frequently done and engineered - with the the SAS on a 100 series, yes, most would track down a 105 especially as the diesel is preferred for touring over the petrol. In that respect, it may be cost effective to...

So can you straight axle a 100 or 200 series?

Because in Australia and some other markets, we got the 105 series... which came with a solid front axle... In theory, this should make it easier to do if you can source the parts at a sensible price including freight from one of those markets.
