My 02 Xterra handles head and shoulders above my last YJ and CJ. Not as good offroad, but I'm able to drive it 800 miles in a day and hit the bed without hearing windnoise and roaring in my head. I would really like an 07, but it aint likely to happen.
There are a couple of makers that do something similar.

and the aussie version, its a bit bigger.

I have a friend who swears by them for quick boiling.
Be careful with gasoline in a petromax. In my research of what lantern to buy I found that the brytelyts are the only ones rated gasoline. They use a different heat shield.
Petromax has rescinded the gasoline rating after the German army had some spectacular fire balls. Appears the fount is...
Just be careful. If you dont leave enough headspace, when it heats up it will pop the valve. If you have an uncontrolled release of propane near a source of ignition you could have trouble. The feds havent worried about the adapters because it leaves it a bit under filled. Also the reason they...
For a single burner I recently picked up this one.

Its a Russian single burner white gas copy of an Optimus Hunter. No pumps, simple and it works like a champ. I highly reccomend it. I searched a good bit and found no complaints. It...
Only disadvantage to the 276 will be memory related. I think 256mb is as big as you can go, and it uses a proprietary memory card. Shouldnt be an issue if you plan correctly. I have a streetpilot III and its limited by the same constraints. That being said, the big screen is well worth the...
Neat old camera. They are cult classics. They made them fore ever and the old ones were all metal. In later years they did the plastic thing on some of the minor parts. Pentax has some excellent lens available in the used market and it will take photos that are on parr with the best out there.
KLR should do that admirably. Others you see pulling double duty are the Suzuki DR650, the Suzuki V-Strom 650 and the KTM Adventure 640. The DR650 needs moe fuel capicity but thats doable.
The folks I know who ride Killers, get mileage from upper 30's to upper 60's depending on speed and conditions. They dont lend theirselves to hopping up, you generally do nothing but kill your mileage and make it louder. They have a super support network. You can find everything from custom long...
I saw one of these on the beach earlier this year. inda nice, loads of ground clearance and a tube frame. Looked like 10/50-15 tires

Biggest downfall of the big dual sports off road is weight. But a street legal WR doesnt sound like much fun on road. To me the WR seems pretty much useless for anything but a race bike/toy. Compression ratio means your burning premium fuel, miniscule fuel capicity and the sub frame of the bike...
I switched to P metric Dunlop Radial Rover A/T's on the last tire change. The Goodrich all terrain LT's were too harsh for as many miles of highway I had to run. Small bumps would make the rear seat passengers voices quiver like they were in a helicopter on my Xterra.
If I spent my time in a...
No, they dropped the proprietary stuff with the exception being the 376 series. My SP III uses the Garmin card but the new ones use SD. Just make sure you dont get the SD deluxe or whatever its called. They cause the unit to crash.
