Agreed w/ @pskhaat , if you have a smart phone on a GSM network, you are being tracked and depending on what network or social media you are using; your info is being shared. And not to burst anyone's bubble, but if you have an OBDII vehicle or newer; your vehicle can be tracked w/NAV enabled...

1980 Land Rover Lightweight Series III Build

@telwyn Can you please quit your job and get rid of all of your other distractions that are keeping you from working on this build and publishing the progress? :ROFLMAO::LOL:

Can anyone speak to the California LR Festival that was mentioned; where and when is it? I'm a bit behind the power curve on these things but might like to try and attend this if possible.

LR3 lowering to access mode overnight

Leaking valves will not throw a code; what you may see is a constantly running compressor or a compressor over-temp of sorts.

Buying a used Discovery in 2020

Well said! I think the best part about it is that a clear thought process goes into the modifications in all aspects for the user. You are correct, my LR3 has reduced braking capability compared to a stock LR3 if I was to return mine back to stock; outside of the brake mod. In turn, I believe...

LR3 lowering to access mode overnight

Order the rebuild kits and rebuild them; you have to access the valve kit anyway to take it out and the front is fairly easy to get to. Kits are super easy to rebuild and takes about 45min once the block is out. Here is the link for the kits that I posted a while back. LR3/4 EAS Valve Block...

    Discovery 3 (LR3) and Discovery 4 (LR4) Registry

I only have experience with Nitto Terra Grapplers and I do NOT recommend them. I've had a set of four for about 4 years or so and I have more plugs in them than I count. In my opinion, they are great on road and too soft for any forest or rocky roads. My use in Hawaii proved they were a tire...

Buying a used Discovery in 2020

I have 17" wheels on my LR3 with KM2's and its the best upgrade I've done. I'll go on record saying that 90% of people who put lifts and larger tires in both weight and diameter to include the armor and trail kit, NEVER upgrade their brakes. I on the other hand am one of those people who...

Which means you can put 17" on an LR4 then? If LR3 brakes fit, that means V6 brakes would too with the right caliber brackets; can anyone confirm? Probably for another thread but........anyone pipe in I'd be happy to learn this option.

Buying a used Discovery in 2020

Yeah, alternator that low on an all-terrain vehicle makes zero sense. Not hard to change cuz lord knows I've done enough of them but why or why would anyone put it down there; regardless of what vehicle JAG/BMW/FORD it was designed for, the alternator should be elevated for a few reasons...

Anyone have a high mileage LR3?

@morrisdl good breakdown; I'd like to start tracking my costs/maintenance like this as well. What program, excel?

Buying a used Discovery in 2020

If lack of charm means more utility and less bling; I'll take my LR3 all day! lol. On a serious note, LR4 is really a gem compared to LR3 when it comes to comfort and quality; but the LR3 IMO is all utility and in design factor between the two and I love it for that. IMO, if the LR3 came with...

Buying a used Discovery in 2020

Since my only true experience is with an LR3, I'll give you "MY" opinion. First things first; I own an 08 LR3, purchased in 2013 as the second owner with 67k (estimated by memory) mileage on it and now have 125k on it. It has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. I previously had...

Not sure that is an accurate assessment; they stated diesel option in 2021 in the US.

That's legit; although that mileage is not exactly great for a diesel, for a Wrangler in the off-road department its legit for real and credit due where credit is due.
