Like most diffs, its fill-to-spill so the only way to check it is to pull the FILL plug (NOT drain plug) and it should be at the level where it spills over the edge of the hole (Level with the FILL port).
If you are time limited, just drive and monitor it and carry some diff oil with you in the...
Not to jump on your party as this is a very creative idea; my recommendation would be to make this as a cowling and out of gelcoat/fiberglass which somehow connects to an existing and tested roof rack. There will be no problem supporting the lights or solar panel.
Just my two cents...
@SteveMfr Great news you are down with the thread, I appreciate your efforts and that of the team and I know everyone else here does as well.
You have a laundry list of "dream sheet" requests to get here so we will all be watching! hahahaha You're welcome! ;)
*Since I created this thread...
Slowly, it's growing on me as the Disco 5 is the more I've seen them; the price tag will be the deciding factor for me to include in the price, the diesel and full trans-lock package!
I wonder when we will be open for reservations and how that works when we have no clue what...
That's really a great videos and something I think LR should have been promoting a long time ago to get back into their roots. Didn't take 7 years of development of a new Defender to stay in touch with nature and conservation so they have some significant gains to recover that Toyota has been...
#1 request or me is what I believe @Ray_G said:
The ability to configure the CCF from EAS to COILS or; make a product that does this for customized suspension options.
As always, love the GAP tool, best purchase I've made thus far for my LR3.
hahaha, well, that was the point initially to ask GAP if they would like a direct feed forum for wishes but it appears this thing took off quickly.....
Hope nobody at GAP is offended by this, I think you will see anyone using this product loves it and just want's to see the continued efforts...
I feel this might be a good forum for all of us loyal and potential future users of GAP Diagnostic Tools to voice dreams and requests from GAP directly. The point of this thread, if nobody rejects, is to ask questions or make requests for future capabilities of the GAP Diagnostic Tools...
Put it in the back interior where the OEM jack is. Run heavy gauge wire as to not drop voltage on the way back but the odds are, the amount you are using it, not going to be a factor to keep it in the cabin.
You could also modify it and make it a portable like the Viair and put it in a Pelican...
These are the ones I use! They have that little stop down area that fits perfectly under the lip of the FR side rails. I use the center slotted hole and the center hole mounted under the rack rail where the M8 bolts slide in. About a ten minute install. FYI, you might need to drill the side...
@Silmarillion doesn't look stuck to me! hahhaahahahha
Did the Matrax get you right out? I used them on occasion in the dunes (mostly for other people) not driving Rovers! lol
My BFG KM2 MT provide unbelievable traction in every instance I've had them on....wet, dry, rocky, sand, blah blah...
@Glapin nice, you'll love the rack! Of course there is personal opinion and ups and downs of each rack but I think you'll be happy with the FR rack.
I use a set of Rhino Rack awning brackets on my rack. They are strong and fit under the rack so there is no loss of rail space. I can send you...
