Looking at the new F150 and wondering what popup campers might fit witting the weight limits of a SC FX4... I was thinking a Fourwheel Camper Hawk plus water, gear, people etc would still fit nicely within he 3200 weight limit or would an F250/350 still be the better choice. Looking to go as...
Regarding Ford Transit 4WD in US. I read on one of the Ford forums that Quigley has agreed to offer 4WD conversions for the US Ford Transits. Could be a nice option. Not as great as factory but to have a US and Europe option other than the Sprinter would be nice. Good to hear the Ford was...
Wow awesome. Cant wait to hear more. For me this would be the perfect vehicle for US and then Europe travel. I really want to hear about reliability.
Also, I was surprised in one of the original shots it looks like it came with Kumho tires stock? Surprised that a 60K Bens comes with those.
Seems similar to the North Face "Docking Station" tent. Cool concept with the large central dome that could be used without a floor (use as an awning on top of a picnic table) and you could add "rooms" off the central dome for sleeping or gear storage. I think they have since discontinued it...
I was poking around in the Uro-Camper Facebook page and noticed the following solutions they have for portable water and stove storage.

Using a Zarges case they fit water...
Do you remove the sides when mounting the camper? Also any chance of making the V2 removable in camp and use off the truck? It would be great to base camp the camper.
Thanks for the pics and the organization ideas. Always fun to read your posts.
You mentioned that you have been to 44 states? Which ones haven't you been to yet (Hawaii? +?)?
FINALLY photos of the production V2! Looks awesome! I like the details with the maxtrax and fuel storage on the outside. Congratulations to get one completed.
By the way, what was the final weight (Laden and unladen)? With the Taco I wonder about the weight.
Dave,
On your tailgate kitchen it looks like you have a tool role style holder for knives and cutlery. What kind is it? Looks like a nice way to stow things and then looks like you roll it out and secure it to the swing out?
I just found this on Youtube. It is an aluminum popup truck cap from VMI. It looks nice. Has anyone looked into one of these? I wonder if it would fit on a Tacoma as an alternative to a truck camper (too heavy) or Flippack (VMI has a hard roof)...
Thought of you when I found this article.

I would like a longer wheelbase (130 Style) of the Africa as well... then with the slightly raised roof could put some jump seats in back with a table for sitting inside... add some AEV bumpers front/rear with swing out tire carrier and either keep the second tire underneath for two spares or...
In that case assuming one would need to purchase from Canada or Europe and import them yourself? How does that work? Who would do the repairs? How reliable are the U500's I wonder? I have heard horror stories of the newer MB Sprinters with all the electronics. A Sprinter seems basic...
