thanks to my friend Sarah for these rig shots:
i carry them flat or tall on the rack depending on how much other stuff i need to put up there. i had to replace the gaskets after a few years when i noticed that one started to weep a little bit (was obvious after a dusty trail).
i've had them swell up to half round in the Arizona sun and from...
i have a small one on each doorpanel.
in the pic you can just see how thick the kickpanel is - they don't stick out past that panel into the foot space really. i've had them there for a few years and they haven't been in the way, but it would depend on the vehicle.
haha, thanks. i have another idea i'm working on that i think will be pretty neat once i get it figured out, entertainment system related. it'll be a few months though with the overland expo coming and i'm working a lot right now too.
bummer about the death wobble though. i assume you've...

when it's zipped about a quarter of the way, i can slide the camera in and out easily but it won't go flying out on a turn or hill.
the pocket is a $9 Case Logic...

create a new "map package" or "cache store" for each type of map you download (instead of downloading into the "main tile store").
when...
doesn't quite exist. oruxmaps supports the garmin map format, but does a pretty lousy job interpreting it, they don't look nearly as good as on a garmin unit (or as in basecamp). copilot live gives you great vector maps of the entire us and turn-by-turn nav, but they aren't topo style and lack...
i'm currently using a Motorola Xoom 10". it has completely replaced my previous Garmin dedicated GPS. i have not found the need for an external GPS receiver for it, the internal one is accurate and works well overall. i have not yet tried an external HD for map storage, but that is the eventual...
