i don't see anything wrong with the rocky road approach except the time to install, but since i'm lazy and know that i'll have to eventually replace the control arms - i went with the teraflex stops ;)
i don't know of any all-in-one unit that has a decent compressor. as already mentioned, the MV-50 (also known as the MF-1050) is $60 at pep boys and is probably the most commonly used entry level off-roader's compressor. you want a compressor that connects directly to your battery terminals and...
thanks. i may get the extensions from rocky-road instead then. i prefer the softer progressive nature of the factory foam stops to the more abrupt poly stuff. the teraflx would certainly be simpler though...
in the rear i may just use hocky pucks.
well the rear part of the lift went in smoothly today, like 1.5 hours - the front was a PITA due to some rusty bolts and took me half the weekend. tires friday, woot!
i had looked around under it while working on the lift and noticed that we do in-fact have all the skid plates that the Renegade was supposed to have, and somewhat functional factory rock rails.
we'll want real rock rails eventually that you can pivot off of, but nice to know i can come...
we took a stock 04 overland through all of the Phillips Loop and it did great. it did use the factory rock rails and skid plates a ton though ;)
i'm finishing putting a 2" budget boost on the GF's Liberty today. can't wait to get her our wheeling - she doesn't like the WJ cuz she can't tell...
originally had just the Midland all-in-the-hand CB mounted on a Panavise bracket using a universal cell-phone button clip as a hanger. the CB has no other box or anything needed, it just runs to the antenna connetor and a extra cig lighter plugin that i added inside the center console to keep...
+1 for Delorme topo as the main mapping software for on and off-road. it's not perfect, but is one of the better ones.
i tried using some of the pre-caching tools with google earth and found it too much of a hassle to bother. instead, i can just pay $30 a year to Delorme to get unlimited...
i have the same rig as you, i went with dual sears platinum's and the blue sea ACR for my setup...
the blue sea for me had the right price, great specs, a seemingly reliable brand behind it, and just the right mix of "smarts" and low-tech latching relay to make sense to me. so far it's worked...
finally got to do a trip again! Calico, CA and other areas on the way to and from... check out the thread here (trip report starts on post #14): http://offroadpassport.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1633
even got to do some light snow wheeling:
some of my faves that others took of my rig...
