    2004 4.7L H.O. WJ transmission problem - P0988

normally contact grease is "dielectric grease", which helps insulate the contacts from corrosion, but does not itself conduct nor improve conductivity. i'm not familiar with the product you linked to though.

    Overland Navigator: New product launch

awesome! (that you are keeping up a PC version - not that Amazon hosed you, sorry to hear that, I've been in the exact same situation with a service vendor before.) do you ever anticipate making vector-based maps with routing capability an option? what about higher detail aerial/sat imagery? 3D...

    Overland Navigator: New product launch

so is Overland Navigator for the PC (2.1) a dead-end product? - it's no longer being sold as a boxed product, and there is no online store yet to purchase it in download form... - the new iOS release is named version 3.0 instead of it being a separate product... so have you abandoned those...

    CB tuning

off less concern than you might thing. your entire vehicle and that bumper is a ground plane... sure, if you plant the antenna right in the middle of the roof or hood, you have a better plane orientation, but it's not that big of deal. double check the electrical and physical connection stuff i...

    CB tuning

double check how you have the antenna mounted, it's important that the center conductor NOT be grounding out, and equally important that the outside of the connector DOES ground. if the paint on your mount is preventing the outside from grounding then that could be your problem, or if you put...

    Knife thread

i carry a 2.75" blade Gerber Evo Jr. as a "pocket" knife because it weighs 1.8 oz however, i'm saving up for a Benchmade Pardue, which with a 3.25" blade (and overall higher quality), still comes in at only 1.88 oz

    Watches - ExPo Style

unlike many, i do not like large watches, nor do i have an afinity for the analog variety. day to day i just use my phone. on trips i'm currently using a very inexpensive watch, but with one feature i like - vibrating as well as audible alarms...

    Best sub $100 air compressor?

not everyone is willing or capable of buying "expensive" for every endeavor they undertake, nor should they just for they sake of spending the most possible. for many people overlanding may be just one of many hobbies, or it may be something that they are just starting to get into and therefore...

On Board Hot Water Shower System

i tried a couple shower heads, including a 1.5 GPM head with my setup, but in the end i went with a simple kitchen sink sprayer. if you really think you want a sub 1.0 GPM unit, then for the price you might consider this even though it's not a traditional "handheld" unit...

The Triple Threat Grand Cherokee (2003 WJ)

went camping for a night with some non-wheeling, but it ended up pouring rain and heavy wind all night. then everything was mud today and it kept doing light hail and snow, so we packed it in early and came back to town for some denny's! the tent-cot kept me dry. and my new bag (teton -25)...

    Vehicular Fluids

agreed, if not somewhere with freezing temps and you also carry small bottle of "water wetter" type product to add to the water to get it's boiling point where it should be (water wetter in my understanding is like super-concentrated antifreeze, more or less). for the original question, i use...

    Kodiak tent question for owners

we have the bigger one. it's only been out a handful of times, but this family of 3 loves finally having a really roomy quality tent! we also use a little buddy heater when cold and it heats it up to sweltering levels in just moments. don't recall where the seams are in the roof right now...

    Best sub $100 air compressor?

i praise it for what it is... i think the best known-to-work-decently compressor for $60. one you are ready to commit to the off-road hobby and want something nice, then i think you have to be prepared to spend quite a bit more to be worth it (i feel the range between $70 and $200 is just still...
