i'll agree, my 43QT, even with the jeep off is barely audible. i can hear the compressor kick on and then a little hum type noise afterwards, and i don't hear the fan at all really.
thanks guys!
all the audio issues are fixed, sounds at least as good as the original radio + factory infinity amp, probably a little better. i'd like to replace the factory amp and speakers one day, but that's another project.
main item left todo from my original goals is the steering wheel...
Dave, your posts exactly highlights my 2 beefs with them...
- when i asked what an acceptable open voltage after them charging it themselves was, they said somewhere around 11.8v - to me that is ridiculously low for any type of vehicle battery. so my 12.3v is considered "good" to them.

today i wasted my breath arguing with Sears over what constitutes a bad battery. to sum it up, i believe that the reserve capacity of a AGM battery and it's CCA are two independent properties of the battery, and though loosely related, the battery may test "ok" for CCA but still no longer be...
when you have a winch near the battery, you have a short run of cable - no worse than the factory run from the battery to the main fuse box, hardly anyone fuses that. the OP however may have a more unique situation.
the OP stated he would have a battery in the rear of the vehicle with perhaps...
the tablet setup performed pretty darn well on it's maiden voyage this weekend!
the audio wasn't loud enough, but i knew that was still a problem going in. i worked on that a bit today and i think i'm getting it closer to being dialed in.
i used Copilot Live just a bit to test it out, but...
i used a plate style exchanger instead of the helton, but maybe a similar mounting position is available to you - lower front frame rail beside/beneath engine: http://offroadpassport.com/forum/showthread.php?t=754 (see post #9)
for a circuit breaker, bussmann is quality stuff: http://www.amazon.com/Bussmann-Hi-Amp-Circuit-Breaker-Amps/dp/B0024JOKM4/
for the right size wire gauge, google "12 volt wire gauge table" and lookup what size you need for XXX amps over a 8' run. note that the tables vary a bit, go with the...
going to take the first little trip with the setup this weekend (going to Old Dale Mining District in CA).
the shutdown/lockup the other night does not appear to be from the cold. i had accidentally enabled some Tasker profiles that i wasn't done configuring and they crashed it. i finished...
