I used Pyrex glass pot on a gas stove at home and it exploded and ended up in thousands of pieces. I wear glasses and glad I do so or the pieces would have gone in my eye. I will never use those glass pots again, don' trust 'em. Even if metal pot melts from the heat it is better than an explosion.

CSG, thanks for pointing that out. Pouring hot water over a filter filled with coffee is the way my home coffee maker works. Stands to reason it would work in the 'wild'. I have been using a French press for awhile now and it is just fine that way. Colombian coffee from Costco, same as home.

I am also running a panavise bracket with the ram x mount for my phone. Got the idea from ColoDisco. Really comes in handy for holding the phone and can then be used to talk hands free. Thought about getting a larger x mount for the iPad mini. Not yet.
