And you know that's BS - it doesn't take 10 days. I just bought a new S&W SD9VE (9mm) 16 round double-stack yesterday at Cabela's, and the background check took maybe an hour (they were busy; otherwise might have been shorter).
I am so glad I don't live in California.
With proper reinforcements and modifications (and a suspension swap), a HF frame isn't a bad way to start. Here's mine based off a 4' HF-type frame. It has thousands of miles on it (and a couple trips up into Alaska and Canada). The picture where it is all dirty is when we ran the Dempster...
According to this site, you can charge the Lithium Yeti Goal Zero 1000 from a 12V source:
http://www.goalzero.com/costco/
It kinda defeats the purpose taking one on an expedition if you can't charge it from a 12V source.
And anything electronic (and expensive) like this, I would not leave...
Yes; depends on the vehicle (and if it came from the factory already wired that way).
I've wired a couple of my vehicles using this kit: https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/etrailer/ETBC7.html and one of the wires is constantly hot.
Or if you didn't have a seven-prong system for...
If you're running electric brakes on your trailer with a seven-pin connector, then one of the wires is constantly hot (wired directly to your tow vehicle's battery). It would be simple enough to wire that hot wire (and a ground) to a 12V power plug in/on your trailer, so you could plug a Goal...
I don't care what you coat a trailer with. Short of some heavy-duty rubberized covering, off-pavement your tires are going to be shooting rocks and gravel and sand at your trailer like they're coming out of a sand blasting hose. Large mud flaps will help (on both tow vehicle and trailer), but...
Our Crosstrek is my wife's vehicle and is her primary car. I get the truck, two Jeeps, and a little Toyota Yaris, so I guess that's fair. She's very happy with her Subaru, and I'm happy she's happy. I like driving it (that's all I'm allowed to do to it). It is a very nice car; gets great gas...
Nice looking truck.
I've been up to Alaska and northern Canada a couple of times - you and your wife will appreciate having the full-sized truck up there.
My buddy and I have been up there with my TJ (and trailer), and his modified Jeep ZJ (and the trailer). It started to get a little...
I figured it was a typo. I saw your trailer picture and thought "that thing is six feet long".
Extremely nice looking trailer too by-the-way; especially how it matches your tow rig.
When you mention RTT, I'm assuming you'll be camping.
I think if you drove your truck (assuming it has some sort of topper on it) it would give you more storage space than a soft-roader (I like that term). If I were taking my wife on such a trip (not really her idea of a good time to begin...

If you've got money to spend, Aquala Industries makes aluminum Jeep tubs (in different lengths) that would make an excellent trailer tub.
http://www.hardbody4x4.com/jeep-boxes.html
The old military trailers were 6' long (72"). 5' long (60") is a nice size for pulling behind a Jeep in tight quarters. 4' long (48-50") makes for a nice compact trailer.
A lot of folks seem to think they can pull an old rusted heap from behind someone's barn for cheap, and with a little work...
This is what I use in my Cabella's double sized tent cot: https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/guide-gear-cold-weather-double-sleeping-bag-0-degree?a=194469
Lots of cushion, and plenty warm. I usually sleep in the tent cot by myself, so I felt like I had plenty of room to move...
That's because too many people have overly stiff springs and over inflated tires on their trailers. I've watched out the side view mirror looking at my trailer's tire in relation to the fender. Even when going down the highway I could watch the distance between the tire and fender constantly...
These are also a nice shock for a little trailer:

Boot Included: Yes

Springs are designed to flex. But if you're running too stiff a spring, they won't do you any good (no flex). You need to base your springs on your sprung weight. Your springs don't support your axle or tires/rims - that's your unsprung weight. And a 3500lb axle with electric brake drums can...
How about this: https://wheelersoffroad.com/product/non-model-specific/air-compressor-co2-systems-parts/off-road-air-systems/heavy-duty-tank-mounting-brackets/ This is what I use for my CO2 tank.
On a side note - does anyone make a Propane cylinder the same diameter as the #6 Wirthington...
You can build a very sturdy but light-weight trailer using a modified Harbor Freight frame and a diamond plate aluminum box. The classic WWII military trailer had a tub measurement of 41" wide by 72" long (by about 18" tall).
Ideally you want the track width no greater than your Jeep's width...
