How did you manage to get a dual cab in the USA? Where did Alcan get the specs on a dual cab with none being imported to the US?

Australian supplier. Probably can get you anything you need...

Does your engine have glow plugs? If so, are they functional?

I I agree that 50k is nothing. But same applies to IP. It shouldn’t have needed to be rebuilt at that age.

Parts should be available via Australian parts suppliers if you can’t find them in North America. In a pinch it should be easy to find parts from Japan.

How many miles on the engine? What were the circumstances of the original onset? Ie, did it overheat or get bad fuel? Was it sitting for a long time? Installing new injectors may be a relatively useful and simple test albeit perhaps expensive and unnecessary.

If there’s no panel in the cab floor to access the engine (which is what crewcab FG’s have, ). I’d consider cutting a hole and making a removable panel.

I would guess a timing problem also. How did you confirm correct timing upon reinstalling?

It can be tight but just pulls off. Those filters are pricey in the USA. About $65 I think

When Fuso updated US trucks from 12k to 14k around 2002(?) did the uprate the front axle?

We’ve towed our Sea Pearl 21 trimaran behind our FG across country. Probably around 1600-1800 lbs. No problem. We’re considering towing our F-24 trimaran across country. Probably 3000lbs. Anybody have an opinion as to whether that extra weight will make a significant difference? 99FG 4d34t
