Omg, another 072s skamper roof rebuild

I routinely lift the roof on our Northstar TS1000 with 100 lbs of canoes on top using the OE Heco lift system. I use a longer handle for the crank--a sailboat winch handle. So it's hard for me to imagine that you increased the weight of your roof enough that the Heco system can't lift it...

    Stratos seat failure/repair?

I should add that I measured the width of the original piece while it was attached and under tension on the seat (it wasn’t completely ripped in two). It was just over 14”. I made my new piece 14”. Removed from the seat and not in tension the OE piece was around 13.5”. So my new piece has less...

    1984 Skamper

For the interior ceiling panels I used a HD plastic panel, not the FRP ones. Has a light knockdown texture

    Stratos seat failure/repair?

Rather than try to redo the hog rings which hold the side bolsters to the bottom panel I decided to use some cord

    Fuso FG "necessary" upgrades?

MFFFGA is the Timbren part number for the bump stop which fit my 1999FG US model. I had trouble getting the right part from Timbren but finally that part fit.

Are there any electrical connections in the vicinity of the pump which might have been jiggled? I’d consider using a separate fuel can, bypassing the existing system and feeding it directly to the IP via gravity to see if it runs.

    Stratos seat failure/repair?

This video is about how to fix a Recaro seat but the parts, failure and solution are identical to my Stratos seat which makes me wonder if Stratos gets the seat itself from Recaro.

    Diving in Head First!

I’ve got a Stratos and my wife still insists she likes the OE double passenger seat. My Stratos base is worn out, I need to repair it.

    FG's in Action

The Aeon Rubbers thread on here has part numbers. I initially was send the wrong version. I can't remember if I put correct part number in that thread for a 1999 FG US model but I think I did.

BuhBye older Delicas…you can’t register them any more in Maine (is this the start of scary and problematic new trend?)

This is the height of hypocrisy given the fact that there are tens if not hundreds of thousands of trailers in the USA registered in Maine with Maine plates by people who don’t live in Maine.

Interesting. My 1999 FG US model has a computer. I assume yours has the 4D34T engine?

    Canter not starting

The neutral safety switch in earlier years stopped the starter from operating at all, so if your starter is working it’s probably not the neutral safety switch

Wouldn’t a common rail engine have injectors controlled by solenoids? Wouldn’t a scan tool reveal the problem? Is the check engine light on?

Have you confirmed operation of glow plugs? Digital voltmeter in 12 volt outlet should drop just after turning key on then jump up about 20 seconds later after relay clicks off.

I’d check for fuel at the injectors. My guess is a problem with one of the stop systems—either the electric or manual, unless the lift pump just failed.
