well on mid December i will on my way to salmon fishing, so consider it done already :) the flywheel for 6.5 diesel is just HUGE , ITS bout 40 lb. drive shafts are coming in sometime this week. new transfer case mounts have been fabricated , working on the pedals now,
and we start the next stage of the conversion .
the latest update on my classic is, that we used old man heavy duty springs, and it didn't do the job they are not strong. we end up using ford F250 front springs. now it works amazing , power str pump from original range rover motor...
guys on a classic range rover, how exactly does the windshield heater work? i see that it has electrical connector on each side. lets say if i connect 12 volt positive to one side and negative to the other side will that make it work?
or does it work on deferent voltage?
THANK YOU
Eric
6.2 and 6.5 were designed to be diesel from ground up. they are not modified 350. have you seen how wide the cylinder head is in 6.5 vs 350? l
the bottom line is you need a reliable motor to take you to that special place be it 6.5 or 454. as long as its not unnecessarily large and no fuel...
loll haha just like you guys ganged up on a poor hummer h2.
i never seen your dico on land rover trips.
why did you move on from dico? it looks nice. well i hope u got a new hummer h2 now lol
ERIC
RON B land rover club is going to death valley this weekend. i am sure they can use some recovery 4x4. should we go with the HUMMERS? OR TAKE THE ROVER? BY THE WAY ARE YOU FREE?
WE SHOULD GO ACTUALY
i love my rover but i am about 100 % sure it has no way of challenging a stock H2
that...
TXH3T. how was the feeling of being at 40 side ways? i never done that, but buddy of ours tested his H1 in germany at the test place, it was at 45 and tires were still touching the ground with 4 inch lift.
AM GENERAL advertised H1 can go all day long AT 40 but it can take up to 50 side...
i love the 6.2. my rover has the J CODE 6.2 and since day one i run it with 50 mix of used motor oil or trans oil. runs perfect.
those motors are not very powerful. but simple and relible, just dont run it hot.
ERIC
VRY NICE ;)
some of the trucks in those pictures belong to HML members,i think i have seen them on the forum.
that 6x6 is awesome it just needs a roof rack haha
those DB2 injection pumps are not been desined for ULSD. the more oil in there the more they will last. army diesel has a lot more oil in there than what we have in the market
ERIC
as soon as i get back from death valley trip. i will swap my trans :) and yes you are the frist one to get the old adpter kit. in fact if you are ok with 17/22+ mpg its a gr8 kit. but i am gonna go for over 30 mpg :)
i just came from 500 mile trip to sequioa national park. awesome weekend...
