Mine did not have tie-down anchors, so I can't say if you could use yours or if you'd have to place the bolts in other positions.

Thanks! So far, the Caribou system has been great. I don't need any straps and it is unlikely anyone will have the key. Speaking of keys, though, I am in the process of changing out the smaller fastener on the Pelican case inside for the larger one. The smaller ones do the job just fine, but I'm...

The water tank filler cap is on the top of the tank, pretty much just behind the right rear passenger seat release latch, and easily reachable with a hose. Have to keep an eye on it when filling up, though; there's no easy way to see the water level and it might overflow if you're not careful...

SMP made the top bracket on the roof rack with mounting points for my tent cot. To mount it, I removed the two main legs from the middle section and the two supporting legs on the ends (the supporting legs are there to prevent the cot from tipping, so I don't need them in this application)...

Check out the sponsor, Caribou Cargo (http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/42089-New-Caribou-Quick-Fasten-Cargo-Box-amp-Case-System). in addition to using them with Pelican cases, I've used them to lock down the metal cover for my generator on my trailer.

Yep, just a three-way rocker. To keep it simple for me (always a plus) I set it to have white UP (forward when open, you know, where the headlights are) and red DOWN (to the rear when open, where the taillights are). The light just screws in with two screws. Since it isn't directly exposed to...

Thanks for your compliments, folks. I was fortunate, I believe, in that the last thing I did was actually get the racks built; everything else had been bought and paid for (and taking up space in my garage) for quite some time. Being able to configure the racks to the gear I already had made it...

Try the OME 2618's. They're rated to 330# and, though they were designated for use by 4-dr JK's with hardtops (or so I've read), they are often used by 2-dr JK's in need of a butt lift. I was fine with them until I, uhh, gained a bit of weight recently (mainly fluids - 110# for 13 gallons of...

Knew I'd catch heat for that! Funny thing is, it just got washed for the first time in about 4 months. Like the roof rack, the cargo rack was made by SMP-Fabworks in Sun Valley. I wanted something that didn't take up too much room and that could (with a little wrenching) be removable. The base...

The Whelen light is model 3SRCCDCR, a 3" Red/White compartment light. Six Super-LEDs with independent control of Red and White light, LEDs are rated for 100,000 hours of operation, draws 0.3 Amps at 12.8 VDC, 275 lumens light output. (All that for less than $45 online.) It needs a constant...

I set up my JK's cargo area with a two-part system. Both sections can be fully removed if necessary. The bottom section has two sliding butcher block tables and holds the fridge and a Pelican case with stove and other camping needs. It's held in place by the rear seat bolts and two additional...
