Over the decades I’ve been travelling to various parts of our continent, and sometimes places overseas where one travels on dirt and muddy roads, not to mention sand, snow and other obstacles which has often meant that one compromises on the correct tyre pressure for the terrain, load and speed...
Hi, profile post eh, I couldn't find this post for a while.
I'll do a bit of a write up of our experience with the CTIS in due course. Really one of the better things we've done, we love it.
Mick.
Thank you for that. This is the first time I have heard of a left hand drive Isuzu NPS. I was under the impression that maybe Izuzu had never made any NPS trucks with left hand drive as I have never heard of any in left hand drive countries.
Air CTI in Morwell Victoria, very local to me being 150 km from my home.

Best accessory ever, use it every time we go anywhere. Perhaps another thread subject, would you be interested?
The difference between a parabolic spring set, and a normal spring set, is that the parabolic springs are spaced apart and can work individually. A normal spring set requires all springs to move, (more or less) in unison, whereas with a parabolic spring set, the springs are able to work...
I have an NPS, it has the ATW suspension changes, but prior to this I had another vehicle with a complete suspension change and I did what Skifreak suggested.
I took it fully loaded to a spring manufacturing shop that specialised in manufacturing spring sets for light trucks. They managed to...
You certainly have a reasonably valid point, but selling vehicles is primarily a numbers game; I'm not sure if the numbers are there for Isuzu to enter the 4x4 truck USA market and make money; which is the name of the game.
Similar issues happen in Australia, it is virtually impossible to...
I'm not entirely sure, but I'm of the belief that Isuzu don't manufacture any S vehicles in any other configuration than right hand drive (RHD); which is their domestic market situation. All of their 4x4 and 6x6 Isuzu trucks are only available in RHD countries to the best of my knowledge...
That does look interesting, but there was no detail on how you get the message that you have reached the correct torque.
With my 1m long torque wrench, I hear an audible click, plus I can also feel the clicking in my hands, or foot; is there a similar mechanism such as an audible noise once the...
I am in full agreement with Peter about the drawbacks of the Unimog. Great vehicle, but it hasn't changed too much from it's original purpose, which was a four wheeled tractor with all four wheels being the same size. Original speed limitations of 89km/h (second model I believe) are still...
I had the pleasure of personally knowing the ex Australian Army officer who worked for the truck and bus division of Daimler Benz (as it was then known). His main job was to convince the Australian government that the Unimogs were the best thing for the Army; he was very successful. I went in a...
Lunch Stop with Mount Finke about 7km away in the background. Goog's Track, South Australia.
This is what tyres look like when sand dunes are wet.
Two days earlier than the above picture and after an intense shower of rain.
I would think so as well. Assuming the vehicle package is running around 2800kg at maximum which I think is likely, then the 69kW of power from the engine would be typical of Isuzu's normal thinking where longevity over performance and shorter life is their mantra.
We have a 2009 Isuzu 4x4...
My nephew worked in the Pilbara region of Australia as a road train driver for close to 10 years, made his dough and is back in the eastern states with one of the trucks that originally was a road train prime mover, bought it from his boss and rebuilt it and reconfigured the unit for his...
One of the things I found out about having CTIS fitted, is the care one needs to do to keep the insides of the tyres scrupulously clean when changing tyres. Dirt or anything else running around inside the tyre can be sucked into the CTIS or maybe partially block the valve stem as there is no...
It seems as though people living in the USA are finally getting some interesting light trucks after a dearth of them as manufacturers/importers pulled them from the market.
Carterd makes a very valid point about CTIS being awesome and extremely desirable; it certainly is. I have an aftermarket...
That doesn't look good. Perhaps one could do a quick fix to get you going using some stretch self fusing silicone tape? That is amazing stuff, although there are limits.
Although there doesn't look like much room to get the tape around the OEM fitting, it may be possible. I'll tilt my cab...
