Not hard to make in a Lathe and you should have your fuel tank breather extended already as it will take water in on river crossings situated where it is.

Finished the welding on the pipes except the tail of the exhaust (still waiting for my exhaust butterfly) and the water and oil lines sorted. All the hoses have their clamps fitted.
AND we had the first test run. Only a short run just to make sure that we don't have any leaks in the water or oil...
Well I am still at it. All the pipe work is worked out and tack welded together. Had to change a few things from what I thought would fit but that's the way this sort of a project goes.
Removed the sump today to fit in the return line from the turbo.

I have left my bump stops as standard so as to get as much articulation of the front axle as possible. Don't know if it ever hits on them (never really looked) but we often have it standing on just one front wheel.
For front shocks I'm running Rancho 9000's these are adjustable (9 settings) and...
Got mine, turned up in the "Land Down Under" (Australia) today. Looks good I'm sure it will get a workout when we do our Cape trip in the beginning of August.
Dan.
My idea is post it here as it Canter related and probably not of interest to anyone else. I for one don't go and look at the for sale section because there is nothing that is of interest to me there.
Dan.
They have pretty much covered it (with pics) but yes if your shackle is straight up and down then it takes quite a hit to get it to move and that is felt in the seats. Mine are very much like Steve's and I have 75mm clearance from bump stop.
Hey Steve your diff breather line needs to be made...
Not caused by taking it off road. Like said it has just come undone, shouldn't happen but has. Unless there was other damage done to the box when it locked up, you wouldn't have needed to have it rebuilt because that is very little mileage for the box. Learn to work on the truck yourself, it is...
More goodies have arrived. Exhaust and air lines that I have to make to measure.
So still at it, the gears for my regearing are still two weeks away so Turbo install goes ahead.
Dan.
While we are on this my thinking today is I wonder if the angle of the butterfly is what may be a problem. Creating not equal pressure on both halves !.
We will find out,
Dan.
No. When I converted Candy's there is no extra length in the movement of the cylinder to be able to change leverage point and it is adjusted to fully close.
You could be right but my take is that there is no pressure on the other side of the butterfly (actually possibly vacuum) and this is...
My take on this (lack of exhaust brake) is that the vacuum chamber is not strong enough to hold it closed. A way to find out if this is the case is set up a video camera to watch what is going on when you engage the exhaust brake. This is the same problem with Candy's Canter. I have been looking...
